Good idea. Maybe something like.. a badge... or insignia like these?
although there certainly wouldn't be the need for ALL of these ranks!
I think using the 'FortuneCity' logo might be confusing.
But, I like the general idea. :)
Blade Runner
Dolby Digital or AC3?

How about changing the thread title?

I'm not feeling this thread.
I enjoy huge quote strings when they are organic, but this feels forced.
True, true. This thread is missing something, isn't it? If you think you know what's missing, please, reply with quote. ;)
I don't know what's missing. Anyone else?

...Didn't really seem like Davnes007 wanted to engage with the topic just criticise my sucky grammar and not having been specific enough over what I had meant, although I'd of thought/hoped that it was clear enough for people to understand my meaning.
There are always those in forums that seem to think it's their job to act as grammar police...
...it was not the nicest of introductions I've ever received...
My 2 cents.
It seems I was in a pissy mood yesterday. I did come off as an ass in my post(s), and I humbly apologize for making you feel unwelcome.
Although spelling/grammar issues do jump out at me (all over the internet), jumping all over you about it was stupid...and I've felt bad about the whole situation since it happened.
Again, I'm sorry for upsetting you (and others), with my behaviour.

Davnes007, you're rather snarky. You know, I do pretty friggin' well for someone with both dyslexia, and dysgraphia.
Well, I didn't mean to come off as snarky. However, you are the one that said you're pedantic about language use.
I was referring to Obi-Wan within the films, not any posters. But fine, I hear the f*** off, I'll leave you all in peace.
Wait...what? ...yes, within the films, but...
...well, that went really bad really quick.
...sorry.

I think the analogy is somewhat faulty though; we're not talking about school. Infact the established way of teaching in the Prequels is to have a Padawn and ergo one main teacher. Also you also make a distinction in your sentance when you say "Science Teacher" so you are in fact categorising him.
Yes, we are talking about school. Yoda is a teacher.

I think your point would've worked if we were just discussing the OT, but I just don't think your explanation holds water (no offence). I would have been more sympathetic to your point of view if it had been just the one mention, rather than the two. Additionally, Obi-Wan's statement seemed to indicate [that] he was close to Luke's age [at the time]. As such, I personally think it's a contradiction.
Fixed.

(My apologies for being pedantic on language use; too much philosophy over the years ;-))

Can't happen. Like regularjoe said, it was probably laser-rot.
Nope, wasn't laser rot at all. They where actually damaged by a cheap player ( cant remember the brand ) that actually ran hot quite often and it warped the discs enough for them to get scratched and that messed up the playback.
Well, okay. I should have said 'under normal circumstances, it's can't happen'.
A player running hot, and f---ing up your discs really sucks. :(

Try it first if possible. LD is about 420i and VHS is about 240i IIRC. I have grown to really enjoy LD. You can't beat the Digital soundtracks. My player is a Pioneer CLD-D702 that I picked up via craigslist for $25.
Can't wait for my pioneer CLD-980 someone told me it's a really sturdy model.
I have one of those. It's a plain model, but it gets the job done.

I had the pre THX lasers...but they had developed video problems from too much use so I had to get rid of them. They where basically unplayable.

regularjoe said: Earlier disks are subject to something lovingly called laser rot, the two aluminum disks were glued together and the glue essentially eats its way out from the inside, destroying the data that the laser reads. ------------------------------------------- regularjoe continued: laser disk [is] essentially...a fetish product like collecting 8 track tapes or super-8 mm digests of movies. That describes about half the people here.

Is owning a '95 Faces VHS set bought from Goodwill enough to qualify getting Dark_Jedi's DVDs? Or do I have to own the GOUT? I'd be more than happy to buy the GOUT if it's required.
Not until you buy the laserdiscs.
I don't have a laserdisc player. I think it'd be cheaper just to buy the GOUT DVDs.
You don't need a player to make yourself feel better about downloading fan-edits.......just the discs.
Creampie.

Then why are the head shot pictures numbered 1-93, with #1 being the group photo? That leaves 92 contestants. I'm guessing there were a few that were absent for the group shot and whoever wrote the caption just counted heads like you did and didn't check their numbers against the individual head shot count.
The last three head shots:
#91 - Miss Cayman Islands
#92 - Miss China
#93 - Miss Russia
...are repeated.
Your move.

90 hot babes all in one collection!
Someone didn't do their math right, though. The text under the group photo says 89 contestants but not counting said group photo, there are 92 women's pictures.
Maybe you should try re-counting...like I did...twice (just to make sure, like you didn't do).
There are 89 Contestants.
The woman in the middle (to the left of the only man) is not wearing a sash...and therefore is NOT a contestant.
Although I've been 'carded' a lot, and most people think I'm in my early 20's, your avatar/picture doesn't quite look like you're under 21.
