Idunno, I've never got that error. Went to the site just now, and it came up just fine. o_O

But, you can always Google "download youtube video", or something like that, and look for the hits that DON'T mention downloading software.

1. For ripping a movie off of a DVD, I use DVDFab 5 . I can rip one in a couple hours. (Laptop, with Intel Centrino).

2. To rip a video off of YouTube. Just copy the url in the "URL" field in the description area, and then go to   http://www.videodownloadx.com/    and paste the url into the 'Download' field, and click 'Download Video' button. A link with appear a little ways below. It'll say ">> Download Convert Record Stream << (Left-click to save file OR copy and paste the link into your download manager. Note: You must change the file extension to .flv)".

3. I have a tuner card in my PC that I can  hook audio&video to, and capture using the app it came with.

When it rotates, the lighting on the window frame should change. I think that would be very difficult to do.

You guys don't seem too enthusiastic about this idea. I think it would be great for ROTJ: R. But it is a long ways away. I wish I had Adywan's or Vaderio's, or this dude Davnes007's, skills. I would start whipping out my own ROTJ: R right now. Davnes007, could you tell me how you made this image?

Well, trust me, it's not as hard as it looks...it's just takes time.

(I think these steps should work the same in Paintshop and Photoshop, and other such apps. . I use Paintshop).

1. Copy-n-paste the Emperor frame you want to fiddle with.

2. Promote that layer so it's not a 'Background' layer.

3. Use the cut-out tool ('freehand selection', or 'lasso').

4. Take your time, and cut-out all the windows. (OMG, that's a pain in the butt! That's why some of the window frames look weird.)

5. Copy-n-paste a planet picture that you think will look right, and make sure its layer is under the 'Emperor' layer. (I used a frame from when Wedge shot out the DSII, and turned it 90 degrees, and enlarged it a bit.)

6. If you need to, copy-n-paste a starry background, and make sure its layer is under the other two layers.

That's all I really did, for that picture anyway. The main trick is to be able to work with the layers properly, so that the transparent areas (of the Emperor pic) let the other layer(s) show through.

The idea is to restructure the beginning of ROTJ.  The way I see it working best is like so:

- Opening crawl
- Vader visits Death Star
- Leia delivers Chewbacca to Jabba
- Luke (who has been training on Dagobah since the end of ESB) sees Yoda die
- Leia releases Han and is captured
- Luke lands on Tatooine that night and goes to Ben's hut - "I can't do it, Artoo" - Ben's conversation with Luke (I'm in favor of getting rid of Ben's conversation altogether)
- Artoo and Threepio visit Jabba and get captured (no message delivery, straight to dungeon)
- Luke arrives, film continues more or less like normal from here

Note that the Luke on Dagobah/Chewie's "bounty" scenes could be flipped, but I think this works best for pacing.

I'd be willing to give this idea a try, if that's okay with you?

Hah! I have an idea:

Take the idea of the sail barge collapsing into the sarlaac pit, then cut in the shot of the spice worm rising up from the sand in Dune and taking out that vehicle.

Take out the vehicle and replace it with a sail barge mockup.

There you go! :p

Hmmmm.....Empire + Dune = WOW

...I feel an epic idea-clip in the making :D

vaderios - interesting composite of Cloud City, but I find the clouds much too stormy/dark (I get the metaphor, just think it doesn't fit in with the visual look of Bespin from what we've seen in other shots).  I think a simple sunset/twilight shot would be more suitable:

I just want to jump in for a second, and say that I agree with Ady's reason's, and am not 'disappointed' that he won't be inserting this idea. I'm just glad to hear that he had fun watching it. Please don't get into a big debate about it.

This is an idea for ESB that came to me in a vision. I know some people are against cutting away from seeing the love-birds to look at a display of some sort, so I came up with a cool compromise.

It was just for fun, but it did turn out a lot nicer than I thought it would (as many have commented about), and I am glad you all enjoyed it...or at least watched it. :)

Anyway, thanx again, and I hope videos I make in the future are just as popular...but I don't know how I'll top this one.

Yep, the slug has always been there. When viewed in a theater, it's almost invisible (just like the mattes around tie fighter, etc.), but the contrast with home video is different, and makes that stuff painfully evident.
