Funnily enough, after just watching DE's ANH, I heard for the first time Han Solo yelling wahoooo as he leaps down the trash compactor. Very cheesy. Sadly I could have lived the rest of my life without knowing that and been happy.

If the problems are solely audio, the soundtrack could be demuxed from the souce, distributed, then reintegrated back into affected DVDs. This would be a quicker way than to upload whole .vob's. Of course you'd have to either create new menus or dispense with them altogether.

The Godfather Trilogy does indeed sound intriguing. My question is: would a copy sourced from new tapes through a Super VHS machine come close to what we have come to expect from a decent Laserdisc transfer?

My guess is we'd have to go the whole hog and give it the Frighteners treatment.

Don't sweat it OCP, this is indeed a work of art. I cant imagine how many hours it would have taken to splice together all the rare footage from the multitude of different sources.

Allrighty then... Anyone who's downunder and wants a PAL copy PM me, and I'll get one out to you ASAP. I've just received my copy from Darth Editous and I just have to say that it is indeed a masterpiece.

Of course I would have left in Wolfman from the cantina scene

but at least the Jabba unpleasantness is behind us once and for all.

Sybeman: Yeah sadly my burned disc has the same problem. I received mine directly from OCP himself so maybe it was a glitch during authoring. OCP: Any others report this same issue?

Macrovision is a copy protection originally introduced in 1979 at the beginning of the VCR age. Essentially it prohibits users from a 1:1 copy of a protected video. Largely apparent as contrast shifts in your copied tape, I believe this may be an early form of the macrovision copy protection which manifests itself as obnoxious lines in your output signal.

Of course I may well be wrong, but I do seem to remember watching a copied tape of Jaws back in '79 or '80 which shared this same feature.

For burning, I'd recommend either Nero (If your DVD is in folder form) or DVDDecrypter if in an img. If you actually wanted to ask a good program for DVD authoring, I'd personally recommend Adobe Encore, however the popular consensus on this board tends to sway toward DVDLab Pro.

Have you tried tapping the tape hard on your hand? Sometimes the tape gets just slightly misaligned with the heads and needs a short, sharp shock, just to get back into place. Also you could try ffing the tape to the end then rewinding. Sometimes that helps.

Let me ask you what program you're using to author the DVD image? I've found errors can be introduced during the authoring process if you use certain copy protections.

In my experience (and granted I have very little compared to the experts on this forum) CRC errors are commonly introduced from bad media, be it old, damaged or just poor quality.

I don't know if you have considered EZSniper Reverend but not only does it do your bidding in your absence but it can also save you truckloads at the wire. What's more - your first three auctions are free.

Have you tried Adobe Encore? You can download a 30 day trial from the Adobe website. Inserting chapter points is pretty basic and it does have some rather advanced features it is also fully compatable with layered PSD files (handy for menus).

Heya Darth, no screenshots for me. I did have just one quick question. You said you were gonna clean up the top hatch Lando scene on Empire. What would you do with the GI Lando shot? Is that salvagable at all or will you just have to cull that 'un?
