 I own and watch only one version of one of the films, which I saw at least once a week in the theater during the summer of 1977. I only saw the third and fourth films once each. I didn't bother with the last two pieces of shit. I Haven't seen any SEs, nor will I ever. 

Yet I'm beyond excited and completely on-board with the seventh film now that Lucas is completely uninvolved.

Anyways, I just saw Attack the Block for the first time and it was great, John Boyega especially. Can't wait to see what he does as Finn.

With Dailymotion, I recommend making an account and upgrading to the newer beta player. Then let the video load all the way through.

That being said, it would be great to see a clip without all that nasty compression. I bet there is a lot of detail there--I've certainly seen it in screencaps posted earlier in this thread--but it's difficult to see streaming and through all those artifacts.

If you're only associating his work with the PT and Special Edition posters, you're selling him short. He is a master of this art form.

Good thing about that flicker removal, because goodness, you don't realize how much there is until you watch about four straight minutes of it.

 Well Hamill said he grew out a "contractually obligated" beard, which could be a joke but he was sporting one for all of filming. It doesn't make sense that he'd go full cyborg and lose everything that makes him identifiable as a character.

Provided Abrams' version of the Sith go by the master and apprentice rule, perhaps cyborg dude is the master.

I just don't see what's so silly about "Phasma." I mean, this community is used to a lot worse--Sidious, Grievous, Tyranus, Nute Gunray. Phasma doesn't sound any weirder than "Skywalker" or more on-the-nose than "Solo."

That tidbit in particular makes me happier than anything else today.

That is literally the highest quality version of that scene in over two decades.

Anyways, I'll commemorate the GOUT: it tided me over for a few years, and without it Harmy's restorations wouldn't be possible. So cheers to those weird, semi-rare, non-anamorphic, low-res, occasionally streaky DVDs.

Starting completely from scratch? I guess by that point Team Negative One's preservation will be ready and you won't have any need for GOUT footage.

What are the current percentages of completion on the reels?

Because of the enigmatic Team Negative One I know way more about theatrical cropping, deflickering and "glue frames" than I ever planned to.

Yeah, that was a surprisingly effective horror movie and got me into researching Waco.

(also, thank you for bringing up cropping because I ended up falling down a research hole and learning way, way too much about theatrical cropping and how all of the frame isn't actually used in projection)

What are the glue frames, again? Are those where scene changes occur and there tends to be a strip of glue along the very bottom of the frame?

Is there a reason you switch between uploading clips on Vimeo and Dailymotion? The Vimeo player is much better.

EDIT: Ahhhh, Dailymotion has the option for higher res, uncompressed video. Wish the site wasn't so choppy, but I see the difference. GOD this looks fantastic.
