Hey Coov, on the ESB 'fancy' cover on the spine you should change the ESB logo to the normal one just not slanted because the logo on the spine is from the special edition posters or face set i can't rember.

The logo on the spine is from the "slanted" one. I just omitted the star wars frame and the tilt. The SE logo was ripped the same way since it looks pretty nice... but then tried to duplicate that with Jedi as well and turned it to cheese.

Ok it just looked like the SE one. And yes the ROTJ one did turn into cheese lol. Many you should try to make disc labels matching those covers cuz there really good

Here's what I've been working on, it is simply a Star Wars Posters Edition of covers. Basically, the front and back feature two different posters, and the back lists no features, only the opening crawl from each film. The purpose of this was that people could essentially use these covers for any of the myriad of fan edits out there. Also, I have a spine spanning image of Luke vs. Darth Vader. I've already encountered some flak because this "ignores" the prequel trilogy. I chose this image not to ignore epsI-III, but because when most people think of Star Wars they usually think of Luke or Vader, not Padme, Qui-Gon, Count Dooku, or whoever. Besides, isn't Star Wars as a whole about the turn to evil (becoming Vader) and eventual redemption of Anakin Skywalker? Anyway, here's a preview of what I've done. Let me know what you think and where I could do some improving. Thanks.

Who saw Lucas's speech at Peoples Choice Awards?

ROTS won best movie at Peoples Choice Awards, and Lucas was there to receive it:

He was there with his daughter, and seems like a really good family man and that is why I like him, until........he goes into his usually SW acceptance speech......

"I know Star Wars has never won that many awards. (Pause) "And has never been loved by the critics." (Pause, to get a couple of applause.) "Critics have not been my biggest fans." (more applause) "They are usually controlled by the Studios" (Pause) "The reason I make these movies......is for the fans!" (Loud applause)

This is vintage Lucas, aww shucks, every fan loves these movies, just the critics hate them, and that is why we don't win awards. The last time I checked the original SW was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, and was nominated in the big categories: Best Picture, Best Director, and Alec Guiness for Best Supporting Actor, thats right an actor was nominated for his performance in a SW movie, because they usually say the OT performances were just as bad as the PT ones. Star Wars took home 7 awards that night, while being the #1 movie at the box office in 1977.

Message to George: Yeah, there are always critics who don't love every movie, that is natural, but you made that classic one in 1977, which was loved by critics, fans, and the studios, and do you know why? It's a great movie!

And when you said you do it for the fans at the end of your speech, the only ones you keep forgetting are the millions of fans from 1977-83 who can't see those original films anymore on DVD. Sometimes I believe Lucas has selective memory....

duh Star Wars didn't get many awards and the critics didn't like it cuz he talking about the Special Editions he forgot about that wonderful awards for the OOT

Cant believe people are adopting the HD/Blu Ray thing so easily!

Glad somebody shares my view. It's too early to launch another home video format. DVD only became very popular a few years ago. Only the real hardcore fans will buy new equipment and new versions of the same movies. It killed of Betamax and Laserdisc and it'll probably kill off these as well.

I AM adopting HD, but not yet BluRay. It will be years until I get myself new hardware and buy HD-movies on BluRay... but there are already hundreds of HDTV-recordings of several movies out there on the UseNet, and I am focussing on those right now. It is a big leap forward, so why shy away from it completely? I don't see HD as a replacement to DVD yet. The perfect DVD-set (and I'd like to say that Jackson's "Lord of the Rings"-SEEs fit this term) is still much more valuable to me than higher resolution... although there are several movies out there I'd like to have in HD... like digital movies (Pixar, Dreamworks... I am an graphics guy after all), huge epics (Ben Hur, Lord of the Rings, Gladiator), Classics (Star Wars 4 - 6, Indiana Jones), VFX-heavy movies (like the Prequels) or movies with an awesome production design (the Harry Potter movies, Star Trek, Terminator, Alien)... so, basically movies that - when presented in HD, simple "show more". There would be no reason for me to watch "Clerks", "Chasing Amy", "Mallrats" or "Dogma" in HD, since these aren't visually impressive movies (ok, "Dogma" and "Jay & Bob" are Kevin's better looking ones, but still).

Well i'm a blu-ray person i'm gonna tell you one that HD-DVD doesn't hold as much and Blu-ray is more capable of being areound longer than Hd-DVD cuz its so expandable

i dont get why obi wan lied to luke either about the lightsaber thing. it just makes him look like a liar and too much a manipulator now as it stands

Let's examine the situation, had he told Luke the truth:

Obi-Wan: Luke, just before you were born, your father and I had a large battle on a lava planet. I chopped off both of his legs and one of his arms, leaving only his mechanical arm. He then caught on fire and I stood watching him burn. I decided to leave and left him burning to death in extreme pain on the side of the lava river. But, before I left, I picked up his lightsaber. (Hands Luke the lightsaber)

(Luke looks at Obi-Wan with large eyes.)

Obi-Wan: SO... um, anyway, I thought I might give it to you. By the way Luke, he also wiped out an entire village of women and children jawas and used it to destroy all of the jedi in the jedi temple, including all of the kids, which he stabed through the stomach. So... what do you say?

Luke: ....YOU SON OF A BITCH! VADER DIDN'T KILL MY FATHER, YOU DID OBI-WAN, YOU ASSHOLE! MY UNCLE WAS RIGHT, YOU ARE JUST SOME CRAZY OLD MAN! I'M GOING BACK TO MY UNCLE'S FARM!

Obi-Wan: But, you are our only hope! You must do what you feel is right! You must learn the ways of the force!

Luke: DAMN YOUR FORCE! (Ignites Anakin's lightsaber, and stabs Obi-Wan through the stomach, before slicing him in half.)

(Luke leaves Obi-Wan's, and Vader takes over the galaxy. Luke still eventually meets Leia, who he marries and they have inbred kids together.)
i know he had to lie but about everything? lucas made a mistake by not adding a scene in the prequels where anakin asks obi wan to give his lightsaber to his son if anything happens to him

Lucas should go back and film a scene like that in ROTS during the part when he's flying the burning ship

Why Boba Fett is now bunk

In fact, in another piece of EU that occurs between ESB and ROTJ, the kid (who turns out was alive after all) tries to edge in on the 'Boba' we all know and love... the now adult kid paints up an old Mandalorian armor to look like 'Boba' and decides to go to Jabba's palace. Jabba, who doesn't understand why 'Boba' is back after getting paid off for bringing Han in, let's him hang out... the adult kid ends up getting into a skirmish that he didn't expect though when Luke arrives and ends up dying comically when he realizes he doesn't even really know how to use his own equipment. Later, the 'Boba' we all know hears about all of this, has a good laugh and continues to do his work with much of the SW gangster world thinking he is dead!

that is now cannon on the history of Boba in my opion

Classic Edition: Return of the Jedi by Ocpmovie (Released)

Well, it's just that I had read an article somewhere that explained John Knoll's involvement in the prequels, and the tradition he had of creating the opening crawls for them on his mac. Well, near the end of the article, it talked of how he "finished" the process by re-doing the crawls of the OT on his computer as well. I can't remembver where I read this, but it was definately a legit article.

maybe its for the Archival editions
