Brilliant Article about 'white guilt'

Now, I disagree with Mrs. (or Miss) Shelby Steele here. It's not white guilt. It's imperialistic guilt. Race has nothing to do with it. Nothing. You can't blame the blind anti-americanism now present over the world due to race, but due to imperialistic actions.

*sigh* But oh well, I am so sure everyone will oppose my point of view here, I'll not waste everyone's time talking about the subject.

You're misinterpretning it, I think, Ric. I agree that it's not really about race. Or at least that it shouldn't be. The thing is, it's the imperialistic actions that the 'white man' is expected to feel guilty for. Even if we personally have nothing to do with the sins, real and imagined, of the past generations, we aren't allowed to fight the war to our full potential because that is seen as repeating the imperialistic evils of the past.

A lot of that definitely happens, but this article also points out that the moral rightness of humanity (or, especially white humanity) using its resources has been eroded by the fact wer are expected to always feel guilty about the past.

In otherwords, because our parents, grandparents, great grandparnts may have been racists, this generation can't possibly have the moral authority to 'destroy' the planet any more than we can destroy radical Islam.

In other words, liberals say the modern white man has no legitimacy because white people used to have a superiority complex.

Nintendo Wii

Well, the majority of people on the planet aren't 18-25 year old males.

Nintendo is targeting THAT majority while Sony and Microsoft are goign after the established gamer-base. Problem is, if new gamers don't pop up as Nintendo hopes, the Wii might not be a hit among the standard target audience.
