I don't want anyone besides Sonic and Megaman not already confirmed; I had only hoped for Pit, Wario, and Samus without her suit in the next one. If you start bringing too many in, it gets ridiculous. Well.. MAYBE Viewtiful Joe.

Sony characters like Rachet and Jak can't be apart of it. Only Nintendo characters and those owned by third party publishers. Cause I doubt Sony will be wanting to sell more Wiis.

A Series of Questions for Socialism's Proponents
Time
If it is against the law to posess firearms, then anyone in a position of strength, say a 300 pound burly guy with muscles on his teeth, ready for some trouble, comes across a 120 pound woman in the parking lot. If he knows for a fact she unarmed and he wants something from her, nothing is stopping him from attacking.

If she might be concealing a deringer underneath her coat, he might reconsider and go on home.

It is a question of who is in a superior position in life:

A woman whose been raped and murdered?

Or a woman holding a smoking gun over the body of the would-be rapist?

I was too at first, but it's something that grows on you. It's just powerful when you actually pay attention to the words the characters are saying instead of lamenting what is happening. I especially love Daphnes' line "Ganondorf, may you drown with Hyrule..." Though I probably shouldn't have spoiled that for Sage.

And what were the GBA extras for the Oracle games?

Not anything massively game changing. You get a free magic ring and one of the shops has more items or is bigger or something.

The Gamecube is unique in that it is the only stystem capable of playing ever Zelda game in the series with the exception of the horrible CD-I games.

The Gameboy Player attatment makes it capable of playing the GBA games and the GBA version of ALink to the Past, and the Collectors Edition Disk has everything else not developed for the GC. Of course it also costs quite a bit extra. If you're just getting the Wii, obvioulsy you can't use that perriphrial

As for Gamecube Zeldas...

The Wind Waker is an excellent game. There are some segnemts when you're sailing where you can run off and grab a drink while waiting to get from one island to another, but otherwise it is very involved all the way through, and has some great dungeon design. It also has what I consdier the BEST ending of any of the games, and looks gorgeous. It has dropped to $20 now and is a must-buy.

Four Sword Adventures may be harder to find. It isn't near as good, but it is still fun. The game is best when played with two to four players, but to do this you have to use a GBA (A DS won't work) and Nintendo's ill-fated GBA-GC connetion perriphreal. You have kids, right Sage? If so, it would probably be worth the effort to track it down, because the game was designed and really shines as a multiplayer game. I don't know what this game's current retail price is.

Collectors Edition is a compilation of Zelda's 1 and 2, and Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time. Zelda one and two are way retro old school, and are worth playing despite their age. Ocarina and Majora's mask on the other hand are absoute masterpieces both. The Collectors Edition might be a bit hard to find since it was a promotional disc instead of meant for retail, and it could cost you upwards of $30 even though it was free with a Gamceube.

Ocarina of Time Master Quest Another promotional disk, this one designed to be given out if you pre-ordered Wind Waker. It includes the original version of Ocarina of Time and a remastered edition similar to the second quest in the first Legend of Zelda, with different dungeons and such. It could also cost you upwards of $30 and may be even harder to find than the Collector's Edition since it only came with TWW preorders. Both it and the Collectors Edition can only be found used.

I haven't seen so much antecipation for a console since the SNES...

I am currently under the impression (and one that may be easily dispelled by new knowledge) that the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess is launching in the third quarter of the year (July, August, or September) and that the Wii version will launch along side the system in quarter four (October, November or December, probably November) so that the GC owners will get an inferior version of the game, but they'll get it first.

Still, considering what I've seen at this E3, I'm almost ready to reconsider whether to buy a Wii on launch day, normally a definite mistake.

Red Steel and SSB:Brawl have collectively sold me also. BUT, a big turnoff: Samus with a laser sword (hopefully a pick-up weapon!)

I'm sure that only the Zero Suit Samus will have the laser sword. The armored version will probably have the normal assortment of Metroid weapons. Has anyone else noticed the "Super Attacks"? It seems that there is a new item that looks like the SSB emblem, and when grabbed, the character performs a Super attack. Mario fired a flurry of fireballs that would make Vegeta proud at Link, and Link did a sword combo to Mario with the Triforce as the background (in the trailer)... And Samus entered firing a charge beam the size of a Kamehameha energy wave.

the SONY press conference.

Well, yeah, but it also costs extra to implement a DVD player into the device. That's why Nintendo is able to sell the GC for $100 even though it hasn't been out as long as the PS2.

As for HD, it doesn't really matter to me either. I don't have an HDTV, and my family didn't have a DVD player until 2002.

Doesn't the PS3 have much better graphics than the 360 though?

I believe they are quite a bit better from the looks of the PS3 launch games. BUT remember that the 360 had an emmensely fast development cycle whereas Sony is playing it safe.

I don't think it is that much of a difference that it will severly give Microsoft a disadvantage. Afterall, the PS2 is the weakest system of its generation and it soled the best. I'd say the difference is comparable to the difference between PS2 and Gamecube.

How do you figure that? I'd say Gamecube had one of the BEST launches of any system. Wave Race Blue Storm, Star Wars Rogue Leader, Super Smash Bros Melee, and Eternal Darkness all within the first six months of the system's life.

The PS2 truly sucked at launch, (what? with great and memorable titles like Fantavision[/sarcasm])...

The X-Box had a strong start with Halo, but didn't have much else that made it worth buying until KoToR.

Either way, the past is the past, and even though the GC fizzled out in the software department, I imagine the Wii is gonna be different. We get a new Zelda game at launch, supposedly a new Super Smash Brothers game, Mario Galaxy, and a back catalogue of THOUSANDS of games that can be either downlaoded or played on it via the V-Console system.

I still haven't seen anything good enough to convince me to get an Xbox360, and though the PS3 has some awesome-looking games, the price is too much for my wallet. I just hope Nintendo delivers in that area.
