George Lucas isn't going to release the original theatrical editions, period.

And there is no false advertising: The box says "Star Wars Trilogy"
It doesn't say that it is the original theatrical edition.

Timothy Zahn is the master. It's a shame he didn't write any of the NJO books.

I belive his new book, Survivors' Quest, is set before the NJO, so I don't think that counts.

I am almost glad I didn't grow up with the 70's version of star wars--if that is indeed what makes everyone here who hates the prequels hate them.

No one told me... I was looking at the Guide to the Characters at Barnes and Noble and just read it. I didn't know it would spoil something like that

I mean that happening never occurred to me at all...

And also... who the heck is Tahiri? It would seem to me she came out of nowhere (I just finished the first Edge of Victory today) and was suddenly Anakin's best friend...

But I had never heard of her...

Yes, Jump to Lightspeed looks very cool. Unfortunately, I'll likely never be able to play it. (Can't afford broadband internet)

Anywho. If you just want to shoot stuff, there is always Rogue Squadron III.

The surgery went as well as possible, appearantly. Actually, I was never really worried in the firstplace.
Now I'm not sure if you'll call that faith, or just arrogance, but whatever.

Hmm.. So.. anyone here played Zelda--Four Sword Adventure yet? It's actually pretty cool: sometimes you get to fight 50 enemies at a time.

The single player could be better, though.

The cliche where adults are incompotent and their kids seem to have every thing under control, or their unable to control their kids..

The cliche where some psuedo-scientists gives jargon-filled speach that really means nothing--it's in a lot of non-serious sci-fi.

Like, "If we activate the quantum flux generator, it will send quantum-protons and quantum anti-electrons into orbit, causing the whole world to spin backwards, reversing the flow of time."

Something like that was actually in an old episode of power rangers....

One more: Villlains having names that resemble evil things: Like "Rita Repulsa"(ha ha--she's repulsive..funny) "Dick Dastardly" and the mustached guy from Dudley DoWright, I forget his name.

I saw it Thursday, and I must say it was awesome. Much better than the original.

And about him taking his mask off... He took it off because it got burned and he couldn't wear it 'til it cooled off. What I wonder is...Where did those kids get the mask? As far as I could tell, it fell off the train.

Ok, now that I am back from Raleigh, where I read the five NJO books after Vector Prime, I wan't to know if anything important happens in Edge of Victory, or can I just skip to Star by Star so I can get....

It's good to see some other EU fans. Actually, I'm really a new EU fan. I've only read ten of the novels, five in the past two weeks.
But yeah, Some times it seems like Lucas should pay more attention to the Novels...

Example: In the Thrawn Trilogy, the leader of the Nogri says that it's been forty-four years since their planet Honogrh was poisoned, and Leia says it happened during the Clone Wars, But no matter how you look at it, The Clone Wars started 42-43 years before then. Small discrepency, but it hurts the belivablility.

Also, in the prequels, it seems like the Old Republic has no centralized military, though the EU books suggest it did. With "Dreadnaughts" and the Dark Force, and all.

Recently I've been reading the NJO books, and I must say, I like the prequel references, like when Han thinks about the YT-1300 being "almost as valuable as a Nubian J-Type.." which is the same as Padme's royal ship in Episode One.

And the ten books I've read are:

Dark Force Rising, it got me started. I didn't read "Heir"

The Last Command, it got me hooked

Specter of the Past, Good book

Vision of the Future, my Personal vavorite

Vector Prime,hated it at first, but still good

Onslaught,..I don't remeber it. That's not a good sign

Ruin, I like the way Corran Kills Shai...

Hero's Trial,pretty good, but I hate that Luceno made Viqi Shesh evil

Jedi Eclipse, I didn't like Jacen wimping out, but otherwise pretty good.

Balance Point,It's about time the New Republic had a victory, don't ya think? Anyway, I liked the way Jacen stopped being a wuss.

Things I hate:

5-hour cartrips in a 94 Lexus 5-seat sedan with 4 people and snacks
Getting lost on said car trips, extending the time to Nine Hours

Serioulsy, pray for us... my little brother is gonna be having a serious back surgery Wednesday--so... yeah...

Critics suck. You can never trust a film critic.

They give rave reviews to Kill Bill (volI) which happened to be abysmal.

Then the turn around and say that "The Passion" is too violent.

ROFLMFBO!

On a more serious note, they also give rave reviews to "Saved!" a movie that might as well be call "Blasphemy, The Motion Picture"

I don't like critics.

I didn't find Riddick confusing... Actually it's almost painfully straight forward. It's the kind of movie where you turn your brain off for a while.

In fact, the plot is less complex than that of the Phantom Menace, but the movie itself is about on par with AotC.

(And not the masterpiece Jimbo thinks AotC is, either.)

Still. The ending of VP was quite satisfying. Unfortunately I've been unable to return to the book store. (out of town. Bleh)
I was having EU withdrawl syndromes and had to play Rogue Leader (a game I hate) to get a fix... LOL.

Now I don't have a history book handy, but if I remember correctly, we lost something like 50000+ men in Vietnam. And now we've lost fewer than 1000 men in Iraq but it's suddenly a "second Vietnam?" I realize every death is tragic, but comparing Iraq to Vietnam at this point is ridiculous.

And if you're definitely not going to be voting for Bush, by all means vote for Nader.

American comics have become stupid--with so many re-starts and reinventions. It's become utterly riddickulous.

Yes they were, especially on Dantoonie--the point I'm making, though, is KoToR 2 likely won't tax your PC very much.

And if it comes out for a console you own it's a moot point anyway.
