What's so bad about despotism and anarchy?

Yeah. Without them, what would Dubya ever be remembered for?

If he hadn't used the American Armed Forces tp destroy Sadam's despotism and subdue Afghanistan's anarchy, he'd be remembered for tax cuts and removing the porn tapes from Air Force One.

And I agree with StarTrooper: Men who treat women like sex toys are just stupid.

Bush and Nuclear Proliferation

The point is that most of the nations of the world arent' free in the sense that America or Great Britain (to give some examples) are. There are too many corrupt and/or despotic governments for any "world body" to work. If nations have a disagreement, they should go to Switzerland or some other neutral country, sit down, and work it out.

The US doesn't support the UN right now because it has proved completely ineffectual in the past, and the sole reason for this is that too many of the members are anti-freedom, anti-human rights, down-right evil nations, which is why I think the US should leave the UN entirely.

Kingsama, I definitely agree with you about the UN. In all honesty, I can understand the perspective of George W. when he basically told the UN we were going into Iraq with or without them. Not that I initially supported the war, I didnt. But seriously, with the UN's track record I would have felt like (if I was Bush) that I needed to take matters into my own hands. At least, I can understand why he would think that. I still fundamentally oppose the War in Iraq, and all war for that matter.

Which is why Kerry would make an awful commander in chief. He has said on mulitple occasions that he would go through the UN on any military action--ignoring the fact that the UN is one of the most inneffective agencies in modern history.

There isn't much I can say about your opposition to war. War is never a good thing, but some wars are just and nececsarry, because talk and sanctions simply don't work with evil men like Hitler and Hussein. And all that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.

Oh. Gosh. If that wasn't so serious, it would be even funnier than it is!

The perfect voting machine would scan your retina--and your finger on a touchscreen--so if you tried to vote twice, it wouldn't let you reguardless of registration. Of course, that would mean that parents could'n take their kids in voting booths, but I think that is acceptable if it eliminates voter fraud.

The New Jedi Order - book series

After the first Thrawn Trilogy, the idea was virtually forgotten until Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future. It wasn't brought up in the NJO until Survivor's Quest was published.

It seems as though Zahn is still obsessed with this concept he vaguely outlined thirteen years ago that really was just a cool tidbit of backstory and not worthy of two novels. It was originally used as an excuse to bring Thrawn to the Empire and to serve as part of Jorrus C'boath's backstory, and, of course Lucas hasn't even acknowleged it as canon.

It isn't entirely an uncool idea, but I wish Zahn would move on to post-NJO work, or perhaps Old Republic stories, and not overdo something that has allready had plenty of adequate explanation.

In other words, go ahead and read SQ if you haven't read any of Zahn's other work. If you have, then you allready know enough. I plan to get SQ when it comes out in paperback.
