The fact he maintained his innocence even when confessing would save his life says to me that either he doesn't value even his own life, or that he wasn't really guilty. Hm.

I really can't say whether I'm for or against it, because I tend to only support the death penalty in cases that go above and beyond eliminating reasonable doubt and eliminate all PLAUSIBLE doubt.

Snape killing Dumbledoor has become a huge joke now.

I seriously once read a thread about Serenity, that had no spoiler tags on one of the post that read

"I cried when Snape killed River."

At first I was furious that River's death was spoiled for me.... then I realized that Snape definitely wasn't apart of Firefly, and did a double-take. Got a good laugh out of it.

But from now on, any time a highly anticipated movie comes out, you can give a fake spoiler that Snape killed someone, and everyone will get what you mean whether they are a fan of HP or not.

And with the exception of the car chase, most of the action in Begins was pretty underwhelming anyway. Nolan was great establishing the characters; next time I hope he works with someone who can pull off the POW as superbly as he did the pathos.

And now all of y'all's praise for it has made me desire to see Narnia.

Naw. I've pretty much said my peace on the subject. It's not that I demand you like the movie or think less of you for a different opinion, it's just odd that you seemed at first to be bashing the movie for being nothing but mind-numbing action (when the whole point of the movie was trying to be something more) and then bashing it for things integral to Batman's history and character.

You say you're judgeing it soley as a film, but I don't see it. It sounds to me like there are elements of Batman himself that are biasing you against the film. The things you listed, as I said, are things that are intrinsic to Batman's character. Aflred in the film is exactly how Alfred should be. Carmine Falcone acts like Carimine Falcone, and everyone knows that Bruce Waynes parents were murdered in front of him. That's the reason Batman became Batman.

As for 'demanding more' I don't see how you could. The plot may have a rather glaring hole in it, (that is, how come nobody started panicking when boiling water for cooking and the like if the toxin had been in the water so long) but other wise it was by far the best plot of any of the Batman movies. All the characters acted like real people, even the villains. And this is definitely the first film to go so deeply into the psychology of Batman and why he does what he does. The first film just said, "Hey, my parents have been killed. That means I'm a superhero now!" and left it at that.

Nolan didn't do that. He made it seem possible for Batman's story to actually happen in the real world, which is something no other Batman movie accomplished.

Of course, you're free to disagree.

Um. Yeah, he does that. So?

and he goes through so much pain in life ;_; i guess that sometimes the road of life can be pretty bumpy that must be why he doesn't get the girl in the end ;_;! his parents were murdered how can he overcome such great pains ;_;? and his trainer turns out to be a bad guy, and even though he thought he died he's actually alive? O_O!!!! NO WAY!!!! I TOTALLY THOUGHT THAT HE DIED IN THAT HUGE, FANCY, HIGH BUDGET EXPLOSION! this is good character development because it shows how he can NEVER TRUST ANYONE, because you never know who might be the bad guy ¬_¬! except of course his good ol' butler Alfred he can always trust that old gent ^_^

Um... Dude, with the exception of Ra's al Ghul having trained Bruce, these things have all been part of the Batman mythos for nearly a FRIGGIN CENTURY. If you have a problem with them, why the heck are you watching a Batman movie? How was anything in this film played any differently than any other version of Batman (other than the campy blue-cape stuff from the sixties and seventies)???

I JUST GFELT SO BAD EVERY TIME SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED TO THEM WHILE I WAS EATING MY POPCORN AND DRINKING MY SODA THIS MOVIE MADE ME CRY CAN'T YOU SEE IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE?!?!?!

Honestly, who the #@!$ ever said that Begins changed their life? It's just a well-made, thoughtful comic book movie--DC's first in years. Right now, you're doing nothing but being an obnoxious flame-baiting troll.

Nobody loved Forever and Batman and Robin, Jaster, and most critics generally gave the first one mediocre-to-decent reviews. There was Batmania, but it was 98% hype and had nothing to do with how much the first movie did or didn't suck.

Who gives a flying flip about the special effects? We know they'll be good. If a movie is nothing more than special effects to you, then no wonder you hated Begins. Begins was about the psychology of Batman, about what makes him tick. Not about explosions, though it had those and they were good.
