Color me a skeptic, but I think most of these kinds of stories have logical explanations, even if they aren't readily apparent.

I'm not getting one yet because of Microsoft's marketing policies (IE prodcuing a number much lower than what they know demand will be to generate artificial hype) and the general lack of truly next-gen anything at the moment.

Plus, I'm waiting to see what gameplay ideas the Revolution brings to the table.

Well, I'd hardly blame the actors for Hollywood's lack of originality. But you're right--so many of the new movies coming out as of late are based on existing properties or a remake.

Five out of Five of my favorite movies of this year are already available in at least two other formats:

Batman Begins
Serenity (Firefly TV show and comics)
Hitchhiker's Guide (Novels, BBC show, radio drama)
King Kong (based on a little known picture from the first half of the century)
Narnia (BBC Drama, cartoon, Novels)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the exception of "no wait, it's on the other end of the universe" line, didn't it end the same way as the book.

(I haven't seen the BBC series or Radio Dramas, so I can't compare those.)

Anybody else think that some of the CGI/Green Screen in King Kong looked really fake? Especially when the men were running through the legs of the brontos.

It really only stands out because of how good some other of it looked.

Er... Rowling was barely getting by raising a very young daughter when she wrote the first book, and she had planned out the seven-book arc beforehand. Somehow I doubt she had grand visions of movies and T-Shirts and such in mind at the time.
