Here's what I'm playing on a rotational basis:

Return to Castle Wolfenstein XBOX
Call of Duty 2 360
Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine PC
Jet Set Radio Future XBOX
Shenmue II XBOX
BioShock 360
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis PC

Man, I loved Bioshock. I never wanted to leave Rapture...I plan to play through again soon with the downloadable content from the xbox live marketplace.
I already beat it but I'm doing another playthrough so I get the rest of the achievements I missed. Hopefully there'll be a BioShock 2. Of course it can be another type of city thing. I got the good ending.
Can't wait for GHOSTBUSTERS: The Video Game to be released in September. Damn the achievements for it will be so damn fun.

I've seen the Cannes interview DVD on E-bay occasionally, in the advance media kit, but they usually end up going for more than I'm willing to spend. I'm guessing that much of the interviews on YouTube comes from this disc, but I don't know for sure.

Darkgryphon- I actually don't even really remember why I picked this username. I'm sure I had a good reason at the time, and I've been using it for various forums around for a long time.
The issue I'm having currently is converting the FLV files to a useful format. I'll figure it out, though.
For FLV files I use Media Player Classic and the CCCP codec pack jobby.

Thanks, DarkGryphon. That is a handy little program to have. I'll have to experiment around with it and see what I can do.
Yer welcome Number 20. Any association with Number 6, The Prisoner?
What I found with the program, it downloads them one at a time and faster after it fully loads. It also saves it in the .flv format.
Only problem I have with DownloadHelper is where the frak are some ToD and TLC behind the scenes stuff?! Well, I did download to my PC alot of Ghostbusters II stuff. It's damn easy getting it on the computer but slightly more difficult finding it. I've been hunting for vids about the Indiana Jones video games, even level playthroughs. Looks like those are gonna take up the most space. Good thing I have a shiteload of CD-R's.

There's a ton of Indiana Jones stuff on YouTube. I downloaded alot of it using the Download Helper which is a Mozilla Firefox add-on.
Only problem is, I've found alot of behind the scenes stuff for both RotLA and of course KotCS. Barely anything for ToD and TLC.
For RotLA, I found both the complete Making of AND the Great Movie Stunts. They're in .flv format when you download the vids. I'm using Media Player Classic and the CCCP codec pack to watch them.
It'd be great if Paramount has these features in a "Vintage" featurettes menu for the upcoming BD's. Of course these would be on a second disc for the featurettes.
Still hunting for more Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade stuff on YouTube.

The pilot episodes of the 70s Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica were also shown as "movies" in theaters. It was considered kind of tacky. Never thought Star Wars would end up doing what it's cheap imitators did.
Actually, the Buck Rogers character dates back to the 1930's. If you're talking about the series from that time, eh, it was cheesy.
You wanna know what? I actually and truly enjoyed RotS. Shocking, isn't it?
I'm only going to rent this via NetFlix. Whoopty-fucking-doo. Or something.

Oh well, it was an idea.

If you can put up with subtitles, it's probably worth keeping an eye out for the Japanese laserdisc on eBay. Looks like they don't fetch a particularly high price (HERE, for example).

Another interesting fact I noticed: the Region 1 DVD release only had a Dolby Digital 2.0 audio track. The Region 2 disc has DTS 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1
At least the 2.0 audio could constitute as original audio track. I rented this on VHS back in the late 90's and thought it was a quite alright film from what I could remember.
Sucks the DVD is Pan and Scan compared to OAR. Is the OAR for this film 2.35:1 or what?

There's also the not well known Indiana Jones-inspired Tom Selleck film, High Road to China. That should be preserved. Is it even on Laserdisc? Watched it SEVERAL years ago and found it fun. Vaguely remember it.
Most assuredly I'll be seeing this in cinemas on Sunday or Tuesday. Can't wait for another adventure with Indiana Jones!

well it could be worse.... what if Hans Zimmer wrote the score to "KOTCS"?

(and I meant that as a bad thing)

besides, I really like the variation of the Indy theme on the last track in the KOTCS soundtrack.
I've pre-ordered the soundtrack to KotCS from Amazon and they're prepping it for shipment. It sucks there're complete OST's to the Star Wars Trilogy and not for Indiana Jones. 2-CD's each for them with tons of cues and the like.

Typical Star Wars fan-pessimism. Shove it up your ass and twist on it. So very irritating to always having to hear about your bitching and moaning about this shit.

Is typical Star Wars fan unnecessary-hostility really any better?

Personally, I can't blame certain people for being pessimistic, I mean they gave Lucas the benefit of the doubt three times in the last nine years, and each time he failed to deliver. But I don't think theres reason to be pessimistic because this is really Spielberg's film, and he does not make movies like Attack of the Clones so theres not going to be "I hate sand" scenes, especially with David Koep at the typewriter.
I dunno about you but I enjoyed Rise of the Sith. Could be I only own the Limited Edition 2-Disc releases, sold off the individual 2004 DVD releases, kept the boxset with the fourth disc and only own RotS from the Prequel Trilogy?
Honestly, I couldn't give a shit there's ANOTHER Star Wars film hitting cinemas. I'll pass and rent it on Netflix. Same goes for my animosity towards The Force Unleashed when Indiana Jones fans such as myself wanted that new Indiana Jones game. But no, Star Wars fans were bitching and moaning for yet another Star Wars game to keep them satisfied. In all honesty, I stopped collecting everything Star Wars, and focused my collecting money more towards Indy.
And no idea why Indy fans got the comic book versions of the intended "videro" games for Spear of Destiny and Iron Phoenix? Indiana Jones fans have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to merchandise compared to Star Wars.
I do enjoy both LucasFilm properties but my preference if I had to choose between the two, my choice is Indiana Jones.
Although I would buy the Young Indiana Jones DVD's but they're a bit pricey and don't contain the broadcast versions. I can understand why they didn't go the broadcast route as all episodes weren't in fact broadcast. No bookends with Old eye-patch Indy? Documentaries more focused on the educational and not behind-the-scenes for the series? Sub-par based from broadcast resolution videro? I mean c'mon! What is this?! These were all shot on 16mm with post-processing done on computer. Couldn't they have based the transfers directly from the film negative and used the final computer shit? One of my favourite shows I used to watch in my early preteens and now it's practically a rental. Also sorta tepid to be let down it was more edumacatuional compared to the Adventure feel of the films, video games and even the 1990's Bantam book series. Might as well rent the three Volumes anyway from Netflix.

What should be bannable offenses on Originaltrilogy forums?
Time
Sorry Dayv, you're on my ignore list so I won't get a massive fucking migraine trying to read your posts. Thank the programmers for the new ignore feature. And that broken Caps Lock bit would get you banned in several forums I frequent and infrequent.

How about banning someone if they're not actually a troll and have a very low post count? Oh, wait, that's me.;) Eh, doesn't really matter, this forum sometimes has its head up its ass and other times funny as fuck. Has both pros and cons as it were.

Hell, AdamWanKenobi posts at The Raven which is the forum for TheRaider.net I've put him on my ignore list also.

What's strange is I've been posting more frequently as of late. Could it be I just feel the need to give my minor opinions about things instead of just being a casual reader? Eh, don't know and frankly don't care.
Carry on with the random bullgrudgery and random matters.;)

By the time we got to Last Crusade it had drifted and evolved into its own thing.

A somewhat worse thing I think. Though, in my opinion, even Raiders is rather superficial (particularly when you get to the big Nazi stuff at the end).
What? The Nazis had a huge hard-on for all that occultish shit. I bet Indy got really tired of it when World War II was full on. Hell, even the main character from Return to Castle Wolfenstein was getting tired of the repetiveness of the Nazis by the games end. At least he also got to fight supernatural baddies too. All in a days work I figure. Or a few weeks for different timeframes. Even in Fate of Atlantis it was typical of the Nazis to try and one-step ahead Indy, but of course Indy got the jump on them. At least Temple of Doom had a change of pace and kept with a massive Cult in the form of the Thuggee.
Since there are alot of film series which are making massive comebacks, might there in fact be the possibility of a The GodFather Part IV? Eh, only suggesting even though it's not very likely it'll happen. Where's Beverly Hills Cop IV, Gremlins 3, RoboCop 4 and others? Oh, wait...

Want proof that George Lucas is out of his mind and that this Indy movie will suck?

Just google "indiana jones and the saucer men from mars"....it was thought it was a rumor that it was GL idea for the movie's script but that Spielberg and Harrison Ford didn't like it....but knowing what we know of the movie's plot it looks like George finally got his way, at least to some degree....this movie will suck. Trust me, George Lucas will see to it...
Typical Star Wars fan-pessimism. Shove it up your ass and twist on it. So very irritating to always having to hear about your bitching and moaning about this shit.
The times I'll be watching this in theatres, I'm just gonna have damn fun watching this. In fact, I believe I only joined the forums more due to DigitalFreakNYC's Indiana Jones project compared to Star Wars. I'm not a rabid and over-tempermental Star Wars fan unlike the lot of you. So I'm not a typical OT.com forum member who'll always bash George Lucas. Shit with you guys about that gets old.
Actually, in all honesty, I do feel let down this film doesn't take place in wintertime. I've always wanted to see a silver screen adventure with Indiana Jones where he travels to rocky terrain in the snowy dusk of winter. Feels like the films have this Spring and Summer feel to them. Nothing for the Fall or Winter? It's what I enjoyed the most re-watching Raiders of the Lost Ark in the Nepal scene at the Ravenwood Bar. Hell, even Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine and Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix, video game and comic book respectively, both had major snowy cold winter environs. More like a modern take of Lost Horizon and all that stuff on Shangri La would've been keen. Although Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow followed on that. Call of Duty 2, the Russian campaign, Nazi's had these very cool looking cold winter gear which felt more in the lines of Indiana Jones and even Castle Wolfenstein. I was even playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein the other day and felt the tonality and atmosphere was completely in line with Indiana Jones. I own both the PC and XBOX versions of Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Also damn glad Indiana Jones is finally making a comeback which he's so rightfully deserved. Now if I can only find the damn actiony figures dammit!:P

"Indiana Jones and the Saucer Men From Mars"?

I love that Title!!!
A very 1950's B-movie feel to that title too.
Anyone ever watch the original black and white The Quatermass Xperiment? Holy geez, it felt like the movie was made yesterday due to the pacing and solid acting. Ray Harryhousen, The Incredible Shrinking Man, The Day the Earth Stood Still, all great serious and also fun 1950's and such films.
On TCM the other day, more like a few weeks ago, there was a film with Harry Belafonte where he was one of the last people on Earth. It was in B&W in 2.35:1. Forgot the name of it but it was actually quite good.

Don't forget, there was also a Monkey King script Chris Columbus wrote before or after Last Crusade was made. It's too bad Iron Phoenix and Spear of Destiny weren't made into games a la Fate of Atlantis like they were intended to.

To get this BACK ON TOPIC:

Has anyone gotten the new 'Lawrence of Arabia' 2-disc CE? Is it the inferior transfer from the old LE release, or the Superbit transfer supervised by Robert A. Harris, or a new one entirely? And when the hell will we get a Blu-Ray of this?
No idea if the new Lawrence of Arabia uses the same transfer as the Superbit transfer supervised by RAH or what. Looked on DVDCompare.net Didn't this also receive a Roadshow release or was it at a time when the Roadshows were dying down? I'd love LoA on BD, including Bridge on the River Kwai, The Great Escape, The Man with No Name Trilogy, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Magnificent Seven, DJANGO and other period films from around the same time on BD. Even CHARADE would be excellent in High Definition. Of course it'd be a Criterion release on BD.
In fact, speaking of LucasFilm Ltd. properties, I'd even enjoy watching WILLOW in HD (1080p of course) with all the extras from the Special Edition release. EXCEPT/INCLUDING a mandate for commentary from Ron Howard and possibly Val Kilmer, way more documentaries, image galleries including concept art from Jean "Moebius" Girard (sp?) and more.

EDIT: Speaking of films released around the time of Casablanca... Are there anyone besides me who considers GUNGA DIN a precursor to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? Just it's set a hundred years or so before ToD. In fact both films compliment each other. What I enjoy most about Indiana Jones is the great adventures. Whether it be inspired from 1930's Republic cliffhanger serials, the Jim Grim novels, 1950's science fiction B-films, Ray Harryhousen, pulp stories and more. Hell, I'm even considering reinstalling my CD-ROM version of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis on my PC, of course playing it via ScummVM, and actually trying the other paths instead of the team one.
Speaking of Fate of Atlantis, if a film were actually made when the game was released in 1992, which actress from said timeframe could've portrayed Sophia Hapgood? Of course she'd need to be a natural auburn redhead or thereabouts. She was also in Infernal Machine but I never actually passed it without downloading saves for the start of each level. Emperor's Tomb was alright, except I bloody hate jumping puzzles!

paying for the storyboards as special features is ludicrous especially since they were once on the indianajones.com website for free.

first they were only available as dvdrom material link for the 2003 set, then they were free to everyone, then mysteriously pulled.

hmm kinda like the missing directors's commentary and deleted scenes that were promised for the 2003 release are not on that release or even the 2008.

plus their are hi def transfers for these films but no blu ray disc is forthcoming.

anyone with half a brain will refuse to be triple dipped on standard dvd.
If you didn't know, Spielberg doesn't prefer doing commentaries. Thanks for being so very sarcastic too. I for one welcome the new Indiana Jones movie and will just have fun watching it in theatres.

Close Encounters last year, the Godfather this year. Can our favorite trilogy be far behind?
I dunno about you but MY favourite trilogy is Indiana Jones, not Star Wars. Star Wars is of course a sextette and if one is talking about the "OOT", might as well use seamless branching to satisfy everyone.
OH NOES! MY OOT IS RUINED! Damn whiny crybabies.
Everyone forgets WILLOW, Tucker: The Man and His Dream and some other LucasFilm Ltd. productions. Speaking of Willow, has anyone read the book trilogy of which Lucas would've done on film if it had made more money? I believe it was Chris Claremont and George who co-wrote them. Shadow series or something.
Hey, my preference is actually more towards Indiana Jones if I had to choose between the two if I'm buying something to add to my collection.
There're also more films older than the OT or whatever which are more deserving of a full restoration. Especially classic films which could be lost forever if they aren't.
I for one am eager to see the 4K resolution restored Godfather Trilogy. And when Spielberg touched up Indiana Jones, it was more due to slight technical errors compared to the "Special Editions". Why not be like Ridley Scott, James Cameron and other directors who have seamless branching so they let the consumer which version of the film to watch? Of course then people would STILL bitch and moan on this forum, "Oh! It's not how I remembered it!". Looking at the release history for Star Wars, there've been multiple audio tracks. Six-track magnetic, two-track optical and such with different elements. Hell, it was even a low-budget feature.
Honestly, Robert Wise had the more perfect idea for his The Director's Edition for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. His film was unfinished since he was on a deadline. He made the effects like they would have at the time they were originally making it. Nothing sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the Special Editions. The Director's Edition is practically seamless as it incorporates the original intended effects if the filmmakers were given more leeway. Yes, it would be nice to have the rushed Theatrical Cut, Special Longer Version and even a TV edit to go alongside the two-disc The Director's Edition DVD.
Compared to Star Wars and Star Trek, the former has more fantasy elements and the latter of course more science fictiony type ones. For an adventure a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, it's Star Wars. For a more Earth based/centric series, it's Star Trek. So it all depends on what type of movie I wanna watch. Of course Star Trek has a dozen feature films with literally hundreds of hours of screentime compared to Star Wars.
Speaking of Star Trek, it'd be nice if the feature films were fully restored in 4K resolution with all film grain and all intact. I'd buy them in a heartbeat.
Oh, Lucas will restore the OOT, when he damn well feels like it. Ever heard of marketing demand and consumer readiness? When Blu-ray is more available in peoples homes, maybe he'll release all the damn versions of Star Wars for you grubby elitish snobby fans. Just be happy with what you're with and be more optimistic. All this pessimism is actually very tedious. Yes, it's in the cool to bash Lucas no matter what he does! he seems like an okay guy to me but with a far too overbearing fanbase.

Today the Indiana Jones DVDs were re-released, each seperately, like the GOUT. Has anyone gotten these yet and are the new special features worthwhile?
Only really are the image galleries. More focus in the extras for the new film instead of the film the disc is for. Same type of menu and transfer from the 2003 set.
Yes, I'm MUCH more of a fan of Indiana Jones and we don't have whiners unlike Star Wars fans. No, I'm not a fellow OT.com person since I hold the Indiana Jones series far above Star Wars, even though I like both. What I don't like about the Star Wars fanboyism is the perpetual and incessant bashing of George Lucas. Hasn't ANYONE ever seen WILLOW or Francis Ford Coppola's Tucker: The Man and His Dream? Both are LucasFilm Ltd. properties. Oh, if it isn't Star Wars it isn't from George Lucas!
What the fuck is this about there being another Star Wars film being released to theatres? You guys probably would eat up that shite anyway. Too much overexposure of Star Wars has gotten VERY tiring and for one I'm welcoming a new Indiana Jones movie.
