I’m really interested to see your takes on these films as I really enjoyed your work on Kenobi. I’ve found the prequels the hardest to find edits of that I’d be happy to put into into my definitive collection, but your AotC sounds like it could be just what I’m looking for.

Out of interest, what’s your stance on multimedia, or inserting Clone Wars/Tales of the Jedi scenes? I know many find it jarring, but I feel some of Dooku’s scenes from TotJ could really add to the tone of TPM.

I’m a big fan of the animated series. But I don’t intend to integrate them into the movies. They’re always separate things to me.

That’s fair enough. I’ve seen a few edits that integrate, and a few that don’t, and to be honest, both can work really well. I’m undecided as to how I’d like my definitive collection to look, particularly surrounding Dooku’s TotJ arc as it works well stand alone or integrated. I look forward to viewing your edits; it might give me some much needed clarity on this topic.

I agree with Broadbeck7 that having the A and B plot changing less frequently would work better between Boba and Mando in Book 2, and also make it easier to find those connective tissue scenes because you’d have to find less of them.

As for the Boba/Din scene no going after the armor conundrum, I was at first thinking something along the lines of EddieDean’s, but Mando doesn’t have his ship so he can’t do that. How about voice-overing something when Boba is looking at Mando (there has to be something you can use): “Not yet.” Or “Too far.” Or something to indicate the reason he isn’t going after him yet. And then his body language sells the rest.

There’s a “not today” line from when he’s scoping out Jabbas Palace that could be used in this context?

The Clone Wars: Refocused [COMPLETE]
Time

I really appreciate the way you’ve incorporated the Ahsoka TotJ episodes, and I thoroughly enjoyed your new interlude; I honestly couldn’t work out how to fit all that together chronologically, but you’ve nailed it in my opinion. My only comment on the interlude itself would be that the “Imposter Inside” and “Teach You I Will” FoD episodes feel out of order. I appreciate they’re presented in the same order as the series, but in “Imposter Inside” Ahsoka seems familiar and comfortable with twin blades, whereas in her training it’s implied she’s only just received the second lightsaber. That said, it works well in the transition to her Clone training with twin blades in the next scene, so I guess there’s arguments both ways.

I typically watch RotS using a Siege of Mandalore cut, and so skip your episodes of that arc (sorry), but I’ve yet to find one that incorporates Ahsoka’s attendance at Padme’s funeral without adding a ton of game cinematics or episode 1 of Bad Batch (I feel that sits better in a standalone Bad Batch edit), so doing the other Ahsoka TotJ episodes as you advise works as a solution also. Even if I did find, or even make (that’d be a learning curve) my “perfect” cut of RotS, I’d still have a standalone short episode of the rest of Resolve to fit in afterwards.

I agree that the first two Dooku episodes sit well as a standalone pieces, although I did find an edit of TPM that included the final episode, much like how I enjoy SoM being included in RotS.

Making the Obi-Wan & Anakin training session (From the Kenobi series) work in an AOTC edit.

I think Obi-Wan being harsh to Anakin is good set up for Anakin’s whiny behavior about him throughout the movie, actually. But that is mostly edited out in an edit such as Hal’s. So your version would work best in an edit that follows his approach, for sure.

Does anybody have any plans on incorporating this in an edit? I know Bobson expressed interest in creating an AOTC ultra-extended edition (can’t wait for that!).

I have incorporated it into my own personal edit of the film which is essentially just a fanedit mashup of Hal9000’s and L8wtr’s with some of my own touches here and there, like adding in the training scene best I could and rescoring the transition from Anakin and Padme kissing to Kamino which I found to be originally a bit harsh in Hal9000’s edit.

I am quite happy with how my own personal edit turned out in regards to adding in the training scene.

I would also love to check out your personal edit, if you’d be willing to share. Sounds like a practically perfect version of this film!

I’m probably being blind, but is there a cut of Revenge of the Sith that includes The Siege of Mandalore and HAL9000’s Labyrinth of Evil?

I’m currently using AranFever’s Fulcrum Cut in my full anthology, but after watching HAL’s sequel trilogy, and being thoroughly impressed, I’m interested in giving the prequels a go too. I’ll definitely be watching LoE standalone, but would I feel that it’d be strange watching RotS without TSoM now, and if I do like HAL’s edits it’d be great knowing there’s a crossover version to add into my permanent watch list.

On a side note, has anyone done a similar thing with Dooku’s arc of Tales of the Jedi and Cloak of Deception?

(The Mandalorian+BoBF) The Way of Mandalore | A Legends Movie Saga (Final Update in Progress: 5/6 Done)
Time

I watched Book 1 and Book 2 last night. Oh. My. Word! These are phenomenal. Absolutely fantastic work, and does exactly what I was hoping for; to blend BoBF & Mando perfectly.

I love the restructuring to the first part of Mando’s story, the arc between retrieving Grogu, handing him off and then rescuing him after the prison break works so well! The flashback work is inspired and perfectly reflects the parallels in their histories. The only cut that felt a little awkward to me was Kuill collecting IG-11. It’s a very short sequence that felt a bit out of left-field when I was refocused on Din after the prison break. Chronologically it makes sense where it is now, but thematically maybe it should follow on from the farewell on Arvala before cutting away to Din on Nevarro? Or maybe something of a post-credits thing? I’m honestly not sure exactly where I’d put it, but I just wanted to be honest with you on that one.

While Book 1 is practically perfection, Book 2 is even better in my opinion. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about so much of Sorgan being cut, but it’s absolutely spot on! The two series are beautifully blended together and the feeling that they’re ships in the night is great. Boba’s characterisation is much closer to what you’d expect from the character, brilliant stuff. I’ll be honest, I did miss the rite-of-passage making the gaffi stick, but completely understand why it’s been cut to maintain the characterisation and pacing; the lizard trip was a bit strange in the original material, and it’s hard to see a way to keep the rite and keep it all thematically sound.

I’m really stoked to see what comes in Book 3 and beyond. I’ve enjoyed Mando Season 3 overall so far, but I was also concerned about how some of the content would fit into a cut like this. Watching the new episode last night has definitely grounded it all a bit for me, and I’m really interested to see how you blend the new content. Overall this has definitely become my definitive way to watch this content on repeat, and it’ll only be new season releases that I watch through D+.

Star Wars Rebels Recut - A Fanedit TV Series
Time

I love Rebels, and it’s what convinced me to to give all the “childish” animated series a go (I was an idiot for waiting so long). I’ve done a few full watch throughs with various people, but I think I’m now at the point where I’d like a more refined version for future viewings. Could I a get a link to your amazing work please?
