Really against the idea of changing the music during Luke’s X-Wing lift, I think the moment is perfect the way it is.

The line being inserted there feels a little disjointed to me, like it muddles the point Luke is making. Ideally it’d go after the ‘thousand generations’ line, but we obviously can’t do that.
We definitely can do this, but should we really?
For the lack of a better explanation; (Mainly because its 3am here) I honestly feel like at this point the more changes added to this film; is another step away from the original movie which I really wasn’t satifised by.
Don’t think the ‘thousand generation’ line should be moved/cut in anyway, It’s fine where it is. Definately would like to see the, “We’ll always be with you” implemented.

It’s important the shot of Rey is extended by a couple seconds, including the music sync. Otherwise the pacing of the line doesn’t work, just sounds inserted. I’m sure Hal will know how todo it.
I’ll mock it up but I expect not to use it. Worth seeing about.
I extended the Rey shot, faded the music together to make it longer, tested the 'Always be with you" no idea if this works,
Hal, just wondering. I really liked the last DOTF DSII music you put together, which I think was an extension of the track in same place. Is that gonna be in the completed edit still?
Right, it shouldn’t spark IMO at the DSII duel.
Also, Rey’s saber lights are green and blue, referencing presumably Luke and Leia’s sabers but not that she used their crystals. Having green and purple would retain this nod for this edit. I’d prefer that over blue and purple.
I think a subtle flicker/distortion to signify wear and tear of this old saber would be best for DSII moment thats already been discussed; if not there maybe another place in the film once or twice, don’t think it should fully shut off or do a full on spark out. I like the idea of the Saber’s breaking after Palpatine confrontation though.
I’m not good with colour correction, someone else would need to test it but, I think Mustafar could look a lot better with a bit more of a Orange / hellish tint, I know Mustafar is rejuvenating itself but I think it looking a little more like Revenge Of The Sith colour wise would be a lot better.

The tint should be a lot more subtle, just not a job for me.
Nev sent me what he described as about the best he can get the Ach To scene to look. Here is a version tweaked a little by me, to see how it plays. I lowered the opacity by 20% so that just a little of the original scene comes in. The reason for this is to obscure the feathered mask around Luke that is still noticeable for a few shots in Nev’s version. (I did not make use of skenera’s de-blued Luke clip because it won’t be usable once we have jonh’s finished haircut footage. But, the normal LUT is applied and this could be how it can look in the final product, haircut aside.)

Would it be possible to insert a sun shot between her first discussion with Luke by the Silencer and her going to the hutt / finding Leia’s saber. I think it could help slow down the scene a bit as towards the end of the sequence, Luke lifting X-Wing, Rey rushing to find Wayfinder; pacing wise moves very fast.
Seeing whats been done with Ahch-To makes me wonder if it would be possible to make Mustafar opening sequence look more like Revenge Of The Sith
The lighting change on Ahch-To is perfect, the look really feels like something else which is personally what I enjoy the most from these sort of edits.
I really don’t plan to trim Luke’s dialogue further than in V1, and I like his line about fear. I appreciate you mocking those up.

I agree, I don’t see a need to change it, ‘Lesson 3’ dialogue is cool idea / way of tying back to 8, just doesn’t sound right and feels like a unnecessary change.
Suprised anyone is still thinking about the Luke/puppet idea, I think its a really great way of showing the galaxy’s knowledge of Luke Skywalker and his legacy amongst the masses. Rey refers to him in The Force Awakens like he’s a myth/legend, don’t think we saw much of that, so hearing pilots chanting his name and seeing the youth on Pasanna learning his story/some of his life actions really sells it for me.

Quite liked the “I have been every voice inside you’re head” where it was from the gecko, not sure how I feel about it moving, if it works could be interesting. Don’t want to see the line lost thats for sure.
The image doesn’t work, but are you aware that the s-foils of the sequel X-wings lie one behind the other instead of stacked on top of each other?
Yeah I know, the set build is just proportioned weirdly / different from before, theres also a oddly small Falcon on Takodanna in TFA aswell.
Spotted weird mistake on Ajan Kloss, Poe’s X-Wing on the Resistance Base set only appears to have 1 s-foil either side when it should be 2 by 2,
I tried mixing Kylo’s and Rey’s themes into the new Duel of the Fates score. Thoughts?

Since you reminded me, I went ahead and replaced the DOTF snippet with the actual OST in higher quality. I put it in place where it was, and extended it backward to the beginning of the track.
What do you guys think? Too heavy?

The soundtrack version is of course free of any slight dialogue-bleed/artifacts that might currently be present in V1. As I said… super nitpicky!

I have a new updated edit/version with the new track,
Recut the whole track to fit the scenes pacing better, it also keeps the original in there, its about 50 seconds now and has a lot more emphasis on Duel Of The Fates, repeats twice but smoothly transitions together. I don’t think Hal is interested in updating the origianl version, but always good to get feedback.
Not sure what it is, but something about those Tie’s flying by the castle feels off.
