Finally today, director George Lucas is going to be attending a special 30th Anniversary screening of Star Wars tonight at the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences in Hollywood -
http://www.oscars.org/events/g2b_nominated_4/index.html
which will be followed by audience Q&A. Tickets are sold out, but if you are going to be attending, someone be sure to ask George if that mega bombad, 9-disc Star Wars Ultimate Box Set is going to be coming out this year on DVD. Ask him what he thinks about the whole Blu-ray/HD-DVD thing too if you get the chance. And, of course, be sure to let us know what he says.
- It will be interesting to see if anything bits came out of this Q&A

'scuse the typos within my above post
- Sidious shouldn't be referred to as ... the Sidious
- Keira has ... A runway(esque) appearance, not ... An runway(esque)
- and lastly (but not leastly) Ep.3's acronym should be (I do believe) 'ROTS', not 'ROTJ' ... LOL!
I was half-asleep

I have book #1,034 of 2,500
The DVD is termed (as a package Highlight) in the pamphlet (that I picked up at C2) as a Special Edition DVD with backstage actor commentaries
The DVD contains 1 program (the fifth of 5) that isn't found (in whole) on an Officially released PT DVD - but is made up of bits & pieces (both) of footage/Interviews Etc. found in those DVD's and bits filmed for the article
There are NO extra Images or rare footage Etc. outside of the other 4 orig. PT DVD web docs/featurettes which do feature small edits of BTS footage from 'ANH'
As wertyqa states, Yes it is an Official release (w/ the Numbered Limited Edition)
In the pamphlet artwork, the image of the Sidious is on the front of the DVD (not Obi-Wan) though the books final art was probably not settled on, at that point

1 - 4 Same as the Featurettes, Web Documentaries on their respective DVD's
Ep.1
1. Costume Drama - Web Doc # 10 (without the Date-Mark's found on) Disc 2 of 'TPM' DVD version - Of NOTE: An Run-Way(esque) appearance by a very young Keira Knightley
2. Timeless Designs (costumes EPK) - Featurette # 2 (of 5) from Disc 2 of the 'TPM' DVD
Ep. 2
3. P-19 - Web Doc # 11, Disc 2 'AOTC' DVD
Ep.3
4. Epic Designs for an Expanding Universe - Web Doc # 7, Disc 2 'ROTJ' DVD
5. In-Character Costumes (costumes EPK) - This is not found on the 'ROTS' DVD, Unknown voice-over - quite sure it originated on TV during pre-release of 'ROTS'
I'm sure I have this file also on a CD (w/ it's TV origin) Looking for it - maybe wertyqa has it?
p.s - My Wookie replica buckle has no green paint on it & the cover of Vader's cape package doesn't have any image on it

Darth Neo - Can't thank you enough for this!
I have been waiting an eternity (since I was 7) to see some of this material (and w/ only a brief perusal)
As SKot stated, some minor web-bugs to work out ... but, whew!
This site (w/ a combined effort from the community) can really be something to be proud of
Good Job!

This madness (that ReverendBeastly speaks of) is truly a worldwide sicness .... and I love it!
LOL! In reflecting (in his memoirs) upon a meeting w/ a young lad, who stated that he had seen 'SW' 100 x's, Sir Alec Guinness writes: "Looking into the boys eyes, I thought I detected little star-shells of MADNESS beginning to form and I guessed one day would explode ..." LOL!
I wonder from what presentation is the Daniels bit from?

But do not want to steal any of your thunder .... just promote it .... whaddya think? (at least for the Celebs that won't b present at C-Europe)

Although in the Autograph Hall you do have a good opportunity for speaking w/ them (Some do even come out for drinks socially afterwords)
It's funny, Kurtz seems 2 b so removed from Lucas now, did they have a falling out? (burned themselves out from one another I guess?)
I recall there was an auction (a while back) of Kurtz letting go of some of his private 'SW' collection (posters Etc.) don't recall anything else though
Here's hoping for those guests of interest 2 b making an appearance at one of these functions - sabers crossed!

Had Charles Lippincott actually started a 'Making of' book that you know of?
Who stopped him and why?
Maybe he handed over the project to J.W Rinzler

ADigitalMan, I also hope for a 'SW' Blu-Ray release as you described (am not holding my breath though)
This 'SW' Blu-Ray update that it is coming ....
Bill Hunt (thedigitalbits.com) covered the latest Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD developments at the recent Consumer Electronics Show, he had the opportunity to chat with Andy Parsons, senior vice president of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., about his company's Blu-ray Disc plans in the year ahead:
BH: It's certainly been a surprise to me, people still seem willing to buy those same movie titles again in a new format.
AP: Especially if there's a perceived value to them. You know, certain titles seem to have that attached value. If and when Star Wars ever comes out in high-definition... (laughs) I don't think I even need to finish that sentence.
BH: Well, I've heard it straight from Lucasfilm reps that it IS coming eventually. And given that Fox is exclusively backing Blu-ray Disc
AP: Right. We'll see. (smiles)
