Haven’t heard that one before. Clever. Hilarious.
b/c the prequels are stupid. Who cares?
Europa Report
Mix feelings on this Film.
I give it Between Thumbs up and Thumbs down.
I’m just curious.
why?
I don’t like The Matrix, period.
Any last words before the perm ban hammer comes down?
I don’t think the effect is bad. It’s just ugly.
Matrix Reboot
The robot overlords discovered all they had to do was turn it off and back on again.
Starkiller base was on the theatrical release poster. And why would they mention it in the movie before it is relevant? Would that even be possible? Mentioning it is what makes it relevant to the viewer.
I’ve not seen the sequels. I feel like the first movie is an open and shut case. What room is there for a sequel? Perhaps I’m being closed minded, but I just don’t see how they could be anything but lame.
The Darkest Hour- Solid, if a little dry depiction of politics on the UK side during Operation Dynamo during WWII. Phenomenal performance from Gary Oldman, who took home a well-deserved Oscar for his work. The rest of the film is a pretty good, if unspectacular history lesson which will probably find its most natural home in schools. A decent docudrama about a pivotal moment in the war, with great performances and strong production values, but it falls a little short of being as dramatically involving as it wants to be.
I loved this movie. Even as someone versed in WWII history and politics, I learned some about the degree of hurdles Churchill had to overcome when he came in to replace Chamberlain. It was very well done, and, as you said, a spectacular performance from Oldman.
Shouldn’t Star Wars be rated above Empire if SW is currently your favorite of the OT?
Re the TLJ score-only mix…
‘The score-only mix of TLJ is now available directly in the extras of the iTunes version. (And if you buy it anywhere else (including the blu) you can access it with the Movies Anywhere app) This concludes this double parenthetical UPDATE’

One of the few pros of buying digital I guess haha.

You have to go out of your way to access it with the blu.

thoughts?
Depends. Couldn’t I just drive to the gym, pick up the instructor, bring her to my house to exercise, and drop her back off at the gym when we’re done? That would be more convenient.
What If (2014)
I liked it. Mainly because I sympathize with Radcliffe’s character… woe is me.
I assumed he was an SE addition because the quality of his movement is so different from all the other puppets
Ditto. Also that it was not much classier than PT fart jokes, and it disrupts an otherwise fine establishing shot.

Citizen Kane.
I kid you not. It was on TCM last night when I couldn’t sleep. Before that it was Casablanca, which I recorded and will watch later.
Citizen Kane is the perfect movie to watch when you can’t sleep.
This reminds me of this: https://www.polygon.com/2015/11/17/9749204/luke-skywalker-kills-supercut-video-vader
That’s completely ridiculous. Are we supposed to be shocked that Luke Skywalker, a soldier for all intents and purposes, killed a lot of people? And to compare to Vader on-screen killings is just dumb.
- Snow White at a drive-in as a young child
Take it easy. I think we’ve made Frink feel old enough.
Argh
Take it to the Pirates of Political Correctness thread.

Waiting for someone to say they saw one of the prequels during a pre-sequel theater marathon and really send Frink over the edge.
Last time Sony put these out, the vinyls had the original listing and the CDs the SE. When Sony’s rights expired, Disney put them out on digital with the original tracks. So I’d say it’s a crapshoot.
New girl? FN and Rey were never “together.”
Isn’t the whole point of that ride irreverence?
I also thought the idea of making changes to tie it more to the movie were dumb. I thought it was charming that the movie was based on a ride. Why dilute that interesting history?
