I’d also be interested in a Vader standalone set during the time between ANH and ESB based off the Vader comics by Marvel. Vader trying to regain his position in the Empire, using Boba Fett to track down information on the Rebel that blew up the Death Star, having him plot to overthrow the Emperor, and wipe out an entire squadron of Rebels on his own after the set a trap for him. It’d be interesting to have an entire Star Wars movie focused on the villian, with the good guys only dropping in from time to time as opposed to the other way around.

I would rather have a Vader film set between ROTS and SW. Not only would it give us Vader killing Jedi (like what should have been shown in ROTS) but we would get to see Vader struggle with his diminished potential, his Dark Side training, the actions he took in ROTS and how he got used to his cybernetic suit. There’s a lot more room for growth with that option.

EDIT:

Hopefuy with the success of the main saga films like TFA, Disney will become confident enough to really take risks with the spinoffs.

Rogue One seems to be going into a different and bold direction with it essentially being a war film. Some will complain that “It doesn’t feel like Star Wars” which is a complaint that will be abundant as it pertains to these new films but it doesn’t matter to me as long as they make good stories and try something different every now and again. Hopefully Episode VIII will continue this trend and seeing as how Rian said the film would be weird it seems as though risks are being taken in that film as well.

In a world without the cheesy prequel backstory, Aniken Skywalker, a Star Wars Story would’ve been awesome. That, RO, and maybe some sort of Kenobi solo story, would’ve made a great prequel trilogy.

Disney doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to jump on the 4K bandwagon just yet. And unless a modern film has been rendered at 4K, or an older film has a shiny new 4K master, you’re paying for an upscale anyway.

I guess we’re operating under the assumption that due to the date of the LF acquisition, any master of the OUT will have been finished in 4K.

I’ll wait for the inevitable ST box set when all is said and done before I buy TFA again (assuming such a set will include the new features). One commentary isn’t enough for me to pony up for 3D, given that I don’t have a 3D TV.

I won’t rebuy if/until it comes out in 4K. Even though I don’t have 4K now, I’d like to future proof my SW collection even if I don’t yet have the means to play it.
