The only people I know who saw it were my parents and they hated it. However, my taste in movies isn't always 100% aligned with theirs if you catch my meaning. Sounds like it might be worth a shot if only just to say that I did. I do like Peter Weller, though, as he was the original Robocop.

And I don't think it's gonna be as big as GL wants it to be. Stores are being burned by SW merchandise in the last few years. Too much of a glut and it sells well right away, but dies after only a couple of weeks.

I'm glad they distanced it (changed script/plot/etc.) and made this its own movie. Don't think it would've done nearly as well. Not that it did particularly well in theaters. But I think the cult following for it would be severely diminished.

Ah, but when BTILC was first being scripted, it was supposed to be a sequel to Buckaroo Banzai. Read it on several BTILC sites.

Must be nice. Does anyone know if U.S. electronics stores ever sell stuff like that? Cross-platform VHS players or region-free DVD players? If they do, they never really advertise it as such.

The French title translates to The Adventures of Jack Burton, but I doubt that's what you're looking for. Also known as John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China. I dunno. What's the answer?
