CONDORMAN!!!! Holy hell!!! I haven't thought about that flick in years.

Obviously, this was a great thread to start up.

Oh, and I would like to add a flick...

The Last Starfighter.

'nuff said.

DVDs of 2004?

I would rank them as such...

#1 Tombstone
#2 Open Range
#3 Silverado

but 2 and 3 are pretty close. The cinematography of Open Range is some of the finest I've seen not put out there by Edward Zwick (yes, I know he's a director and not a DP - but all his movies are so beautifully shot). And the scattershot style to the gun battle at the end is incredible. A bit like Saving Private Ryan in the old west. Not as consistently intense, mind you, since there are so many fewer combatants in OR, but damn good all the same. I guess maybe you can compare the camerawork in the gunfight to some of the fighting sequences in Enemy at the Gates... when it's intense, it's really intense; and then there are the suspenseful interim sequences. You've gotta see this movie.

I've actually watched some eurofootball on the Spanish language channels here in the states. Easiest way to learn the language is to watch sports broadcasts. However, you might wind up like that Howard Cosell speaking guy from Better Off Dead. It is fun though. And I watch the World Cup matches when I can. I think the Fire have won either 2 or 3 times. I've got one of their jerseys.

I know some of the basic rules for euroFB, I just don't really know the teams and players (aside from Beckham - with his media oversaturation, who the hell doesn't know him?). Is there a league homepage I can go to and discover who's what?

I'm not ignorant of the concept of Football. I just don't know the players. I would like to get to know it better, but I'm not sure where to start. Wanna help aculturemutate me, motti? I've always enjoyed soccer (sorry), but don't know a whole heap. We've got a local pro team in the Chicago Fire and they're pretty damned good, too.
