My comments aren't directed at you, MSD. Chaltab seems to be under the impression that Dems are pacifist tree huggers. Nobody is when provoked. That's the only point I'm trying to make with him.

And Chaltab, yes, I'm from the U.S. No, I'm not Democrat. Nor am I Republican. I don't believe either party is 100% correct in their views. Both sides have their faults. But neither is willing to fess up to them. But isn't this the case in any political party around the world?

And that's the problem. For the U.S. Government to find these troops truly not-guilty of anything, they would have to admit that the soldiers are suffering PTSD and then any troop and his family can file for compensation, medical care, etc. Just how do you prove PTSD? It's effects would vary greatly from one troop to the next. They might make an example of these troops just to get the rest of them inline and make the world look, at least a little, more favorably on the U.S. forces in the Middle East.

I viewed Boba Fett as a big time spoiler considering his figure came out two years before ESB. But then I found out it was in conjunction with the Holiday Special which I never knew existed. And I'm sure many other people are completely unaware of the existence of the HS so, to them and me, the Fett figure release was a spoiler. To some degree, the other figure releases are spoilers, but at least they are released within a few months of the film release. Not at all the case with the Fett fig.

And what's this info that was pulled off the site. Do tell...

U.S. Army Reprimands Six for Iraq Prisoner Abuse

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The U.S. military has reprimanded six senior commissioned and non-commissioned officers in connection with the abuse of prisoners at the Abu Ghraib prison outside Baghdad, a senior U.S. military official said on Monday.

The announcement followed an administrative investigation ordered by Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq (news - web sites), into abuse of Iraqis at Abu Ghraib.

Six other soldiers are already being criminally investigated for their involvement in the alleged abuse at a prison notorious in the Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) era for its torture chambers where thousands of people are believed to have died.

The reprimands -- the most serious written punishment the U.S. army hands down -- are private and no details would be released on the names or ranks of those punished, the U.S. official said. A seventh person received a lesser letter of admonishment in connection with the same incident.

Last week, the U.S. network CBS released pictures of U.S. soldiers abusing and humiliating prisoners inside Abu Ghraib, including piling them up naked and hooded. In one case a prisoner standing on a box had wires attached to his hands and feet and was told he would be electrocuted if he stepped off it.

Sanchez ordered an investigation into possible abuse in January and in March the U.S. military brought charges of assault, cruelty and maltreatment against six soldiers, members of a military police battalion.

The alleged abuses were said to have involved around 20 prisoners and took place in November and December last year.

Sanchez's non-criminal, administrative investigation was launched at the same time as the criminal probe. A second administrative investigation, into "interrogation practices used in Abu Ghraib" is also underway and follows reports that intelligence officers may have encouraged the abuse.

Britain is investigating separate allegations of abuse by British troops in southern Iraq

If nothing else, it at least tells us what the guy on the box was doing.

That was a pretty bad line.

With regard to Park's acting, who can really say for sure if he's good or bad? He hasn't had a chance to do much that isn't in the guise of some funky character. As has been stated, he had no lines in TPM. So all we get is action and physical presence whick I think Park has in spades. In X-Men, his character had some decent lines, but it was still mostly an action and physical presence type of role. I would love to see Park do the sort of role like what Brandon Lee got to do in The Crow. Physical martial arts style flick that really incorporates some emotion and requires acting skill. I'd like to see how Park could handle that. Start indie though.

You gotta remember that his acting career was accidental. He was just supposed to be working on TPM as the fight sequence coordinator when they asked him to try out for the role of Maul.

These pics truly do disgust me. I'm not sure if they surprise me or not. War can bring out strange reactions in those participating in the fighting. I just think back to the movie Platoon and, even though it's a movie, you get some green kid like Charlie Sheen's character who's never done anything wrong in his life. But the messed up wartime mentality that kicks in corrupted the hell out of him. Extreme conditions evoke extreme reactions.

These troops do need to be dealt with harshly. So many people over there hate us already. We don't need more incidents like this to evoke more anti-U.S. mentality.

With regard to the Hitler issue. So far as I can tell from my studies of World History, Hitler's fanaticism and desire for world domination (well, at least European domination) predated his death camps by several years. Yes he had Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, et al killed at random throughout the years, but I was under the impression that death camps didn't exist until approx 1939. Hitler came in to power in the early 30s and started his German expansionism in the mid 30s, didn't he? So, Chaltab, you can't say that his "protectionist" policies were to keep people from finding out about death camps. It was to protect his "perfect" Aryan race from corruption by "lesser" cultures and races. He really believed he was doing the right thing and millions of people in his country and outside his country believed he was doing the right thing as well. There are still people who think he was right to do what he did.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

And no one can say that Al Gore would have done nothing. No one knows what he would have done because he was never put in the situation where we could find out. All you are doing is bullshit speculating. You cannot prove yourself right, but by the same token, no one can prove you wrong. So it is useless to argue it. You can't say that all democrats have a policy of non action. Hell, even Clinton initiated some missile attacks on Iraq for violating no fly zones and post Persian Gulf War I treaties. I can only imagine what would have happened if an attack had happened on U.S. soil. I can't think of a single person that would sit back on their laurels, IMHO, regardless of political affiliation.

I agree with you completely, Jimbo. The problem is that many parents these days allow TV to "babysit" their kids. They don't even know what their kids are watching. It's sad, really. People have kids and then forget they have to take care of them.
