Who's gonna play Vader is the least of my concerns to be honest. He's a man in a mask. Who's gonna play some of the face-time principal roles like Obi Wan, Bail, and Padme (if she survives Ep 3) as well as future characters like Han all of whom are characters that have faces attached to them in our minds and would be nearly impossible to replace with other actors and the film actors are not likely to sign on for a series. The possibilities frighten me.

I will always remember The Girl Next Door

Yeah, but considering the success of the teen genre (for the most part), especially teen sex romps like American Pie which also had no names in them, I'm sure the producers were expecting a bit more. And they even had someone in it who is already a stand-out sex kitten sort of actress in Elisa Cuthbert. She's been hyped as an up-and-coming Hollywood Vamp for a few years now ever since she started in the first season of 24. Her image is plastered everywhere. So, while she's not an established leading star yet, I'm sure they hoped for much more from a genre flick that had her headlining. Maybe not much more, but definitely not a complete MIA from theaters after only a few weeks.

Motti, I actually found that same page. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that I remembered some name being given to that night much like the night when the Nazis started vandalizing the Jewish storefronts for the first time (Night of Broken Glass or some such). I could be wrong.

Ric, we do not claim that the scenes were faked (at least I don't claim they were). They were manipulated through the editing process to show just what Michael Moore wanted them to show. Anything contradictory, for the most part, was edited out. That happens in all documentaries. I took a class on it and we watched many examples of how one-sided docs can be. Even something so "safe" as Ken Burns docs have a political agenda even if it is not noticeable on the first viewing.

British soldiers embroiled in fresh Iraqi POW abuse scandal

LONDON (AFP) - As the US-led coalition in Iraq (news - web sites) sought to condemn reported abuses on prisoners by US soldiers, Britain's defence ministry said it was investigating photographs apparently showing British troops abusing an Iraqi detainee.

"I am aware of the allegations which have been made today of the abuse of prisoners by British soldiers in Iraq," Britain's most senior army officer, General Sir Michael Jackson, said referring to pictures published in the Daily Mirror tabloid.

"All allegations are already under investigation," he added.

US President George W. Bush (news - web sites) and British Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites) condemned earlier Friday disturbing pictures showing the reported abuse of Iraqi prisoners by US soldiers at a prison west of Baghdad.

But, in a fresh blow to the image of the US-led coalition, new pictures to be published in Saturday's Daily Mirror show British soldiers apparently beating a detainee -- a suspected thief -- with rifle butts and urinating on him.

According to the mass-circulation newspaper, the prisoner was allegedly threatened with execution during an eight-hour ordeal, which left him bleeding and vomiting, with a broken jaw and smashed teeth.

The Daily Mirror said it was given the pictures by serving soldiers from the Queen's Lancashire Regiment, who were horrified at the act depicted and concerned that "rogue elements" in the army were undermining attempts to win the hearts and minds of local people in British-administered southern Iraq.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the soldiers told the paper that the unnamed captive, against whom no charges were brought, was driven away and dumped from the back of a moving vehicle following his ordeal.

It was not known whether he survived, the newspaper said.

"If proven, not only is such appalling conduct clearly unlawful, but it also contravenes the British Army's high standards," Jackson said.

"If proven, the perpetrators are not fit to wear the queen's uniform. They have besmirched the good name of the army and its honour," he said.

The defence ministry confirmed that five inquiries into mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners by British soliders were ongoing.

Dunno how good I feel about a guy named Michael Jackson investigating claims of physical abuse, though.

DVDs of 2004?

Yes, but when your wife professes to be a Harrison Ford fan (or at least she was at one time) and not like SW... now that's a bit odd. She wasn't even much into Indiana Jones until she met me and we were able to see Raiders in theaters on a nostalgia weekend a few years back. She just liked him from some of his smaller movies and then the Jack Ryan films he did. Honestly, for her, I think it was mostly Regarding Henry and Sabrina that did it for her.
