George Lucas' explanation why the OT is obsolete to him
Time
Crap works in the sense that any amount will turn you off. It may be disgusting, but we are trying to prove that even the smallest amount of change to the OT is a turn off. So you need to appeal using a comparison in which even a tiny amount will turn you off.

However, if you want to make a comparison using incremental changes to show how much more distasteful something can be, then the salt analogy works better. Look at the changes GL made for the SE. Now even more changes for the 2004 release. Finally, another set of changes for the 2007 UE. As each happens, he is adding progressively more salt to the recipe and making it even nastier tasting with each round of changes.

To me, if nothing else, this should prove that there is an audience for the OT on DVD and he should release it knowing that he will be making even more money on us. That's how he thinks. In terms of dollars and cents.

There was a comic book series put out about five years ago by Dark Horse called Boba Fett: Enemy of the Empire or some such. In it, Fett is hunting with Dengar and Dengar sees him take off his armor and sees all these burn marks over his body and asks him what's up with it. Fett explains that they are scars from the Sarlacc's stomach acid. He claims to have used his jetpack to induce indigestion or something along those lines. And he was either spit back up or he was able to jetpack his way out. Both seem rather improbable to me.

Star Wars...The TV series!!
Time
I, too, am afraid of it becoming a bit of a joke if it's set using references to characters we already know and love, be they OT or PT. To hear reference to characters we know and never see them on screen would be too big a disappointment (that would be the only way to use them and not have to worry about the perfect casting). I really think a series about the initial rise and fall of the Sith (pre PT) is about the only thing that could work.

Star Wars Trivia

I thought our only rule was to keep it to the movies. Maybe it takes a bit of research regarding the movies, but at least it's not EU. That was the only guideline I thought we had... no EU.

Sorry if you didn't like it. But everything else is pretty pathetically easy, don't you think? As for the research, bookmark the Databanks on SW.com. The "research" should take all of 30 seconds and you should be able to use that page to answer almost any question.

And yes, it's the B'omarr Monk. Your question Joker.

Lucasfilm DVD announcement: they are NOT the original cuts, they're the Special Editions.
Time
That was a good show. It's from the episode where they're trying to catch a mouse in the guys' apartment using a mirror and sandwich trap and Berg winds up falling for it accidentally. Looks in the mirror, "hey good lookin'!" Sandwich appears, "Mmmmm... samich." Screen goes black and trap snaps shut on Berg.

I wish that would come out on DVD.
