I like it, too. Being a regular voter myself, I would love to see some sort of system that takes away from people who don't vote. They live with the benefits so why not take part in the system that allows for such benefits. And I would love to eliminate the Electoral College. It is such a joke.

I believe it's a Pepsi product here in the states as well. Mr Pibb is the Coca Cola equivalent.

But I would have a mix of both products. Gotta have some Coke and Cherry Coke as well as Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Barq's, and Sierra Mist.

A no-TV day during sweeps would definitely have an effect. And broadcasters would hate it. Their ad rates are based on viewership at specific points in time (months of February, May, and November). If you were to even just severely cut back your viewing during those times, it would hurt them badly. No, you wouldn't get everyone to agree to do it, but a large number could have a disastrous effect. There is no making up for not watching during sweeps by watching at another time. Doesn't work that way in TV.

Actually, my wife and I leave white lights strung up on our deck year round. Does add a nice ambiance factor to the deck on summer nights.

Jugular still gushes far too much and too quickly to be stifled by cauterizing from a nice during a slow back and forth cut. The back and forth motion alone would constantly reopen the wound.
