Damn Progress All To Hell

My iPod is already old, and I just bought it in February, and I really feel like the Third Generation iPods (like mine) are a lot easier to use than what the bloody Fourth Generation ones look like they would be. Buggerers.

Galahad, I've got a third-gen iPod as well. My wife got a fourth-gen. We have yet to set the whole thing up and get it loaded with music since all our music is on my work computer. She would have to come down here and set up a list and all that jazz. So it's just kinda sitting in its box for the time being. We also need to get cases for them. Mine is two weeks old now (a little more actually) and it's already getting scratched to hell. Got one on the screen that kinda bugs me. I'm getting one of those PDA screen protector transparent stickers from my brother to put on it and put it in one of those iPod sleeves (the white rubbery plastic ones). Unless I can find an official iPod case relatively inexpensively.

The Yanks are asking for a forfeit!?!?! That's balls, man. That's balls.

The Cubs have to make up their entire three-game series with the Marlins. I guess they've got one shared off day between them in which they'll play a double header and then the third game will come as a double header during the last series between the fish and little bears here in Wrigley.

Astros 9 game tear is incredible.

As for Sammy, I've been informed that there is a one week window during which the Cubs are actually permitted to trade him away in the offseason. It's actually a clause in his contract. God I hope they take advantage of it. But who the hell would take him?

Info & For Sale: Hey Bossk.... vintage Kenner figures
Time
You bet your sweet bippy it was. Especially since mine cost me very little (US$50) and it was still brand new and purchased at a retail store.

I've been trying to figure out what music to put on it. I've got some going, but it's still only half full. And it's a 15 gigger. I can't imagine what I would do with a 40GB. Not that I don't have the music to fill it (I have 23GB on my HD), I just haven't opted to put it all on my iPod at this time.

CF - "And I suppose that's my coke-spackled mind as well?"

I don't remember my thoughts regarding his first appearance on screen either. But, much like Rebelscum said, there was no real network of spoiler knowledge for us. No Internet to spoil things. Our only mass communication was the nightly news and the newspaper. And, to control those, all LFL had to do was refuse to release any photos to the press. That's really all it took.

The construction process and PSLs remind me of Soldier Field down here. I have yet to see the finished product with the whole "flying saucer" nestled in the middle of our otherwise beautiful stadium. I've only seen photos. I want to see it in person, but haven't gotten down there. But I was receiving e-mail after e-mail after e-mail a year or so ago about PSLs. I think they are a complete load of crap. But apparently some did sell. Expensive mothers. But, then, what football ticket isn't expensive these days? Only damnable thing about playing only once a week... the premium price on the tix.

We are talking about the same Sammy Sosa here, right? No, getting rid of him would not become another Rafael Palmeiro debacle. Sammy's done. Stick a fork in him.

Yeah, I remember this boob scene too. See, this one is more believable because it is a pure accident. The TaunTaun "stiffy" is a bit more unbelievable simply because it would require a puppeteer actually taking the time to "arouse" the puppet, per se. A real animal getting a stiffy on film is believable. A puppet... not so much. And, no, HotRod, I don't plan to actually go back and check it out. I'd rather remember the TaunTauns for their faithful service both as a scout animal and a human flesh heater.

Boycott Special Edition DVD's - I know you can do it
Time
"As a person who works hard for your money (so hard for it, honey -- you can leave that part out if you so choose), I am sure you would like to know what it is you are spending your hard-earned cash on by purchasing this DVD set. If you are old enough to remember the original Star Wars movies that were released in 1977, 1980, and 1983, be aware that this set is not those same movies. If you remember the 1997 release of the Special Editions of the films, well, those are not contained in this set either. If you would like to know what you are purchasing, please spend a little time perusing the information contained on the homepage and in the forums on www.originaltrilogy.com. Many changes were made to the original Star Wars films for this DVD box set release and it is only fair that you know what you are buying."

And you can get a little humorous with a closing line that true fans would recognize by saying...

"Many a Bothan spy died to bring us this information."
