UK differing 2004 Star Wars Trilogy DVD BoxSet Covers...
Time
95% + of USians don't have widescreen TVs. I've never been to a friend's place that has had one or know of any friends that do. Widescreen is still very much a theatrical concept although it is starting to gain wider acceptance. Thank Christ it is.

I've been a widescreen advocate since I got the THX Faces edition in widescreen back in 1995. That was about the first time I ever saw that you could buy widescreen in VHS. Then I started trying to buy everything widescreen whenever possible.

My dad was very anti widescreen until my wife and I bought him a DVD player and his first DVD - Starship Troopers (one of his faves) - and showed him how much of the shower scene he was missing with pan and scan. That changed his tune.

Good things to say about the PT!!
Time
I will definitely agree on Darth Maul being one of the good things about the PT. He was so bad ass and Ray Park played him well (as well as he could, I suppose). I just wish he wasn't killed off so quickly. I wanted him to be around throughout the PT. First Park gets dissed in Star Wars, then he gets dissed in X-Men when his character Toad wasn't brought back for X2 (he wasn't killed off in the first one, was he?). He gets no respect I tell ya.

Dude, where's the General Lee?
Time
I agree with what's being said regarding sensitivity towards the Confederate flag. However, there is a way around it. Treat this movie the same way that Starsky & Hutch was done. Set it in the 70s when the the show actually was taped. That would allow for a little greater level of tolerance to personal ignorance. People in the late 80s, 90s, and today are expected to know better. The 70s on the other hand...

Gundark, I, too, would like to see Biel, but I don't think that she's even being considered anymore. She was early on and I liked the idea. Alas, I don't think it's gonna happen. Both Simpson and Spears are bad for the role, IMHO.

And I'm glad they don't have Paul Walker cast because then it would just become a deep south Fast and the Furious. I also don't think Walker would be a good fit with either Knoxville or Kutcher. They wouldn't mix well in my opinion. Scott would work well with them, personality wise, and if he were to be a bit more serious (kinda like he was starting to be in The Rundown), then I think it could work. You need some humor in this, but not the outlandish humor that Scott is known for. He could still make it work though.

I have lost all hope in humanity!

We all know how full of hot air my nation's capital is. The hot air was used to fill balloons used as floatation devices to allow the car to travel over water to Denmark. Actually, the hot air in the capital is so pervasive that it was probably able to float above the water without even getting wet.

I like your theory about soaps and wrestling, Gundark. Works for me.
