Yeah, the film should have nudity. Probably in the form of Jessica Alba since she plays the stripper/dancer. Then there is Rosario Dawson's "slightly" showy outfit. Emphasis on "slightly." Jeez, why wear anything?

The Comiccon footage was taken off the web. You may have to try to download it somewhere. It's an incredible sequence and I, too, thank Gundark for the CD with that file. Great stuff, Gundark!

It won't happen. There is no hope for this season. The salary cap is still the sticking point. Owners want it, players don't, and neither will give up the fight.

The G4 PowerBook will go down in price, no question. But it will be relatively difficult to find. You'll have to go through MacWarehouse/CDW or some other online/phone retailer. I was thinking about that strategy for myself.

Shimmy, I've heard that the Centrino chips are not all that. They do preserve battery life initially, but within a few months they get a little wonky. I've heard that the Pentium chips still have better life in the long term. Actually, the guy that told me this about Centrino said that the best way to go in a PC laptop is to get one with an Intel Celeron. Faster than Pentium and not nearly as wonky as Centrino.

Comic book movies - who says yes and who says no?
Time
Okay, several opinions to express...

1. I am looking forward to the new Fantastic Four if for no other reason than Michael Chiklis as The Thing. He'll be great. Plus I am liking the idea of Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom.

2. Jessica Alba is hot. No question. Is she right for the role of the Invisible Woman? My initial inclination says no, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and watch it anyway.

3. That dude playing Mr. Fantastic in the old 90s movie version reminds me of Tom Cavanaugh in Ed. Evidence...

4. Did you know that the guy playing Mr. Fantastic in that version is Alex Hyde-White who played the young Henry Jones in IJ Last Crusade but his scenes were deleted? Funny tidbit.

Sequels that should never be...
Time
Not that they're better than the original Rocky, but I did thoroughly enjoy Rocky II, III, and IV. Rocky V should never have happened. Nor should VI. I can't say that Rocky IV sucked because I grew up on that movie and it still has one of my favorite sequences around. The scene where you see Rocky and Drago doing their concurrent training and seeing how their methods compare and contrast. That was a very cool bit.

Discussion: Episode III Figures... SPOILERS!
Time
Lucas recruited Tartakovsky (sp?) to create the Clone Wars animated. That would make it canon to me. Plus, this is how Lucas plans to tell the Clone Wars story that falls between AOTC and ROTS. I think he's going to try to avoid as much Clone Wars information as possible in ROTS. So you'll want to watch this series for it all to make sense.

And, yes, Clone Wars volume 1 comes out on DVD on 3/22, the same day as the reissues of TPM and AOTC. And I think season 2 of Clone Wars comes out on Cartoon Network somewhere around that time, too.

Hayden replacing Sebastian Shaw in ROTJ
Time
But bear in mind that in TPM, Anakin is, what, 8 years old? 10 years later, in AOTC, he is supposed to be 18. When you hit 18, your growth spurt is done. Repeat... done. You ain't growing the extra six or seven inches that Hayden needs to be of the same stature as David Prowse. The only way they're explaining this one away is that Anakin's extremities get burned away or otherwise destroyed in his saber fight with Obi Wan or the aftermath (I'm trying to avoid saying it for those who don't already have an idea) and that his Vaderlegs (TM) are longer than his Anilegs (TM). That's the only way to explain it because, HotRod, I'm sorry, people don't grow between the ages of 18 and 38 or 48 or 58, etc. The only direction that people grow after 18 is out, not up. And then, eventually, they lose height due to compression of the discs in your vertebrae. I hit six feet tall when I was 16 or 17 and I was done. That's it.

Comic book movies - who says yes and who says no?
Time
On a related note, here's a snippet of an article I found regarding this past weekend's box office opening for Elektra...

Quote

And that brings us to Elektra. The comic book-based flick, about a female superhero who rises from death to become a martial-arts vigilante, was sliced and diced by the competition, earning just $12.5 million. The PG-13 Fox release averaged just $3,901 at 3,204 sites. Even Halle Berry's dog Catwoman opened stronger than that.

Ouch. That comparison has gotta hurt.

A bit of DVD news today...
It looks as if 20th Century Fox is going to be reissuing Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones on disc on 3/22. These will both be the same DVD editions as were previously released, in separate anamorphic widescreen and full frame editions. Why 3/22? Well, the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars, Vol. 1 arrives on DVD on 3/22 as well. It's all part of the retail build-up to the theatrical debut of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith on 5/19.

I'm assuming the same cover art as well so it still won't fit in with your OT DVD set. But there's still time for this to change. And there's still the possibility of the whole enchilada being released as a box set that will fit in with your OT DVDs.
