Thanks to new member Tic, I now have a better quality version of the Cheeseburger In Paradise song from Cup A Joe. I will use this to make a better HD version than is currently on the organ site.

Aside from that I have finally finished reconstructing all the teasers from season 3. I’m now working on season 2 which will have a better result. For the odd scenes in season 3 that didn’t appear in the episode, I upscaled the scenes from the DVD teaser. This wasn’t terrible but there was a noticeable drop in quality where they occurred.
For season 2 I am collaborating with a friend who owns Topaz AI. This is being used as a source for the clips that aren’t in the episode and is much closer to true HD.

I may at some point have another go at Mexican Slayride. It would be interesting to see how well Topaz could upscale VHS!

Ooh that’s very interesting! I might have to check them out to see how the quality of the s2 teasers compares to the ones I have currently. I think you kindly shared them with me a while back.

Out of interest do you still have the DVDs those teasers came from?

“The Heat Is On” is present, but it’s a cover version. Definitely not Glenn Frey’s original. Don’t know if that’s how it was originally or not.

And Hannibal’s line in “Range Rider” is fully intact.

As for the teasers, supposedly the reason why they’re missing is because the film elements for them were destroyed in the Universal vault fire

I think it’s a virtual certainty all the releases are using the same masters.

7 teasers left to go for season 3. Pausing for a week or so as it’s so hot here in the UK and I don’t want to overheat the PC!

I’ve just completed reconstructing another two season 3 trailers. 16 down, 8 to go 😊

Hopefully someone will clarify soon. It’s been confirmed that Murdoch singing Satisfaction in A Small and Deadly War is present, as it was on the UK set.
I don’t hold out much hope that the music edits on the UK set have been presented correctly but I guess we have to wait and see if someone confirms.

From what I’ve been hearing it seems the US Blu-ray set is using the same masters as the UK one did.

My mission to reconstruct the missing teasers in HD will resume shortly 😄

Has anyone got hold of the US release on Blu-ray yet?

Yeah as SpacemanDoug saying it is probably dual mono. You have to actually listen to it to be able to tell.
If you want me to help out with checking drop me a PM but given it’s the 2 part version I think it’s even more likely it’s dual mono. Appreciate you checking though 😃

I have no idea if this series has cuts. I haven’t seen it in ages but have happy memories of watching the early episodes with my Mum and Dad on a Sunday evening.

If there are cuts and help is needed to restore them I’m happy to assist where I can if needed.

Actually, if anyone can access the Peacock site, could they please check if Knight of the Juggernaut or Burial Ground are in Stereo?

It’s pretty unlikely but worth checking. If you need any help to check how to easily identify if they’re stereo or not just let me know.

Where are you seeing Knight Rider on Peacock? I’ve just checked the app on Sky and done a general search for Knight Rider and can’t see it anywhere at the moment.

I guess it’s one of those things where if no-one is really complaining to them then they won’t bother spending the time (i.e. money) doing it themselves.

I had a brief conversation on Facebook with someone who says the season 2 trailers were destroyed in the fire but I am not sure if that again is speculation or that they know for certain.

I’m wondering if it has something to do with a fire that apparently happened at Universal some years ago. Apparently many film reels/spools were lost in that. Could it be that the copies that were scanned for HD are the only ones known to exist? Or is it just that they were being lazy and just took the first ones they came across without paying any attention to the content.

I will be pleasantly surprised if they have the teasers and it will be interesting to see if they have any music edits. Maybe even the Jumpin Jack Flash scene reinstated.

Well this conversation has fired my interest again, so I’ve recommenced work on the trailers. Trying to remember my workflow (memory isn’t what it used to be!) but it’s coming back to me and I’m making notes this time lol

“Timber!” is in progress. Hopefully I’ll have all of season 3 done in a few months

Yes, sorry there was also Knight of the Drones in 2 parts rather than the movie. I forgot that as on the UK set which I have it is the full movie version.

That episode is missing Prince music track on the DVD but this is included on the UK Bluray (I would guess by accident).

It is also the episode that has the original credits unique to the story replaced by the standard s3 credits for all releases that have happened.

Wasn’t there this episode where it was in its two part version that originally aired as a two hour episode despite it being the original two hour format on the old DVDs?

Yeah I saw that review and it’s quite misleading - for example saying the UK set is Dolby Digital when it’s DTS-HD.

I’m sure at least one person somewhere has bought it but I’m guessing they don’t use this forum. Would be really good to know if it’s truly complete so I don’t waste my time on any more teasers!

Just to be clear I’ve only done half of season 3 so far. Season 2 will be next if still needed.

I love The Fall Guy too but don’t have access to anything other than the UK DVD seasons 1&2 which I own, plus various off-air recordings of seasons 3-5 that I’ve found online.
I kick myself that I didn’t record them all from UK Bravo years ago. I recorded all of Knight Rider thinking it would never get released on DVD but skipped The Fall Guy.
So I have had off air, DVD and Blu-ray of Knight Rider, but not a single complete set of The Fall Guy.
Ah well, you live and learn!
