I just checked the copy from Darkzip and the playback is indeed a little jerky. The upscale really looks fantastic compared to DVD quality so hopefully that framerate issue can get sorted out.

I agree with you 100%, Bridger12. I think it would be a huge loss if he cut the extended Death Star battle. It was one of the main highlights of the edit. I know he doesn’t really care what anyone else suggests, but it’s about 95% to 5% in favor of keeping it from all the comments I’ve read.

I thought the extended Death Star battle was brilliantly done just like the extended Hoth battle for ESB:R. I’m shocked and disappointed to hear that it won’t be a part of the HD version of ANH:R. 😦

V1 was one of the most amazing fanedits I’ve ever seen so I can’t even imagine how much I’m going to enjoy V2. Thank you for this, Hal9000.

I’m glad he didn’t go as radical as some edits and I thought the Finn stuff he cut out was the right amount. It’s OK to leave a little bit of humor in and he got rid of the really cringey lines IMHO.

Just got done watching this and it’s hands down my favorite edit of TFA yet. Only minor changes I would personally make are:

• When Han says “move, ball” to BB8 it doesn’t actually sound like his voice so maybe that could be addressed

• I always liked the part where Han threw the guy into the Rathtar’s mouth after he punched him so would love to see that one bit restored

• Agree with EddieDean that the “I’ll tighten your restraints” line should be put back in

• The color correction throughout the entire film looked great except for Jakku which looked a little too blown out in terms of the white. I like the fact that you tried to differentiate the color of that planet so it didn’t look exactly like Tatooine, but it almost looked as white as the salt planet it TLJ so maybe there’s a happy medium somewhere.

For me this ranks right up at the very top of SW fanedits with Adywan’s and Hal9000’s releases. Brilliant job and I can’t wait to see the next version if any of the suggested changes are implemented.

Another vote here for the Spleen. I’m hoping someone will have it up there pretty soon.

One thing that always bugged me about Adywan’s color correction on ANH was that the Death Star stuff almost looked black and white. Too much color was taken out of it IMHO

Will the new workprint you’re rendering replace the version that’s in the G Drive folder right now? I just discovered that one earlier this week and watched it the other night. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

That’s too bad. I would have liked an upscaled version to see if it was better than the current DVD quality.

Yeah, everything on the Death Star looks a little too desaturated. Ackbar and all of the space scenes look great, though.

I downloaded it before reading the comments here. I might just move the file to my Recycle Bin now. I still think ForceGhostRecon’s TLJ edit is the best one I’ve seen yet. 😃

Are you using Adywan’s ANH as the source and does that mean the release will be DVD quality instead of HD?

These De-Specialized versions are the same as the Sequel Trilogy: An Insult to George Lucas, A Disgrace to the franchise, Fan-fiction, Pointless and Unnecessary!
I managed to get the theatrical cuts in very low resolutions (.avi) and I forgot how horrible it was back then.
Makes me appreciate even more the Special Editions and The Prequel Trilogy.
