Even though this IS on the DVD, the one on the DVD is NOT in Letterbox and is missing the "Coming Soon to a Theatre Near You" screen at the end.

I am working on a Criterion Cover for Ghostbusters (I remember that someone here is working on LD to DVD transfer of special features). I will finish later.

And I am also doing a Criterion Cover for Jason and the Argonauts. I transferred the LD to DVD with the Audio commentary of Ray Harryhausen and the rare SPFX footage.

I can provide the video, since I have the official french PAL DVD. What you have is the theatrical cut of the Mysterious Island. Originally it is a Mini-series (6 x 60'). The Mini serie is also available on french market, only with french track.

be careful, some of the trailers on the official DVD are cropped to be in 16X9, like the ESB Teaser.

They are in full screen mode on the LD Archive collection, and cropped on DVD. But the LD Archive Collection has also other trailes not on DVD.

Japan released on Laserdisc several SFX Museum discs.

I lost the auctions last year on Ebay for 2 of them but maybe someone here knows where to find them or have DVDR of these programs.

Some years ago, I read that during the theatrical release of Galaxy Quest, a false Making of Galaxy Quest, the TV series in the movie, was shown on Us TV.

does anyone know if it’s exists for real ? It’s not on the dvd.

I don’t know if someone here is fan of Howard Hawks films, but in France there is a long version of the Big Sky with 12 additional minutes.

The film is named La Captive aux yeux clairs. And the DVD includes both the theatrical and the Long cut.
