Info & Info Wanted: King Kong 1976
Time
you are right, the artwork on the disc confused me. because I have the same artwork except it is written fullscreen on my disc

it is not the same dvd. the guy sells a 144 min version in widescreen (based i think on a reedit of the french dvd with in inclusion of the widescreen deleted scenes).

What I bought on dvd is a 177 minutes version, in fullscreen from a TV edit.

Well that's what I expected anyway since there's no available widescreen source of the extra scenes. Can you comment on the movie's picture quality and the extras he has on it? Maybe even post some screencaps? I'm still waiting for the DVD myself...

the quality is second generation VHS. extras are only the trailer from the r1 dvd.

like I said before some extra scenes exist in widescreen on the french dvd and in 16x9 mode

KING KONG - The Spider Pit Restored Cut (Released)

I don't think it is a good idea. It is not a "real" deleted scene, since it was only created a few months ago. I am glad that it was not reintegrated in the movie on the dvd, since this scene was directed by Peter Jackson not by the original filmakers.

I am happy that the scene exists as a special feature on the DVD and I can watch it.

good luck anyway for your project.

I also have on VHS the Making of orson Welles' Touch of Evil, a 50 minutes documentary, ans a longer version of The Making of The Birds (+ 20 minutes), both directed by Laurent Bouzereau and not on DVD. They are in english with french subtitles. I will put them on DVD soon. I will also transfer the Short film "Mant" of the Joe Dante's Matinee LD NTSC, not on DVD. And also Police Squad: the TV Series, from the LD NTSC.
