Hmmm...just watched it on the news, and now I know what Anctufaalb was thinking.  Earlier stories simply posted pictures, not video.  One picture was taken by my next door neighbor, whose name is indeed impossible to pronounce.  Mine is a little difficult, but not terribly so.  The 5:00 news showed video that actually mentioned my name and showed my good lookin' face.  Sorry to all who missed it.  It was a treat, I tell ya.  I'm better looking than I realized!

Damn!

UPDATE: Nevermind, just downloaded an iBook sample and the iBook is CLEARLY better and higher resolution.  Some photos in the Kindle edition are pixelated, and crystal clear on the iBook.  Kind of miffed that the difference wasn't advertised, however, can't complain to be paying $12.99 twice for this collection of amazing content.

Ugh. Is there any way to download the iBook version and use it on my kindle?

Unfortunately, no. Nobody has broken the DRM yet. It's a bear.

Are you sure?

Wouldn't this help?:

http://apprenticealf.wordpress.com/2012/09/09/

I have plenty of books on my Kindle, and I edit the metadata and formatting on nearly all of them to my liking with Calibre. This, of course, requires me to break the DRM on them in order to do so. I've never had need to break DRM on an iBook file before, but if it can be done, you can bet Alf's blog will give you the low down on it.

The problem is that Requiem 3.3.6 + iTunes 10.5.3 is needed for breaking iBook DRM, but iTunes 10.5.3 requires iOS 5.1.1. Unfortunately, my iPad is on 7.0.3...

I really wish I had access to two more sets of the JSC at this point.  I could do a toot between 3 sets for a total of 9 captures and probably eliminate all of the rot and dropouts.

EDIT:  Actually anybody that owns the set and wants to participate can send me their set and I'll send them back to you with your raw capture saved on a stick or something.

I actually have a set coming in the mail.  Where are you located?

He's in Sweden IIRC.

I now own the "The Making of Star Wars" iBook. I've been working on deDRM'ing the 720p for you, Harmy.

The iBook itself isn't encrypted. In fact, the ".ibooks" format is just a ZIP file, so renaming it as ".zip" allows me to get at the contents with 7-Zip.

The deDRM program, Requiem 4.1 (the final version), will only work with iTunes 10.7, so I have it and iTunes 10.7 installed in a Windows XP virtual machine running on VirtualBox.

Requiem claims that it can't find any DRM'd files in my iTunes library (yes, I made sure to download the book with iTunes in the VM first), so I extracted all the files and invoked it from the command-line as "requiem.exe input-file output-file" where input-file is one of the m4v files from the iBook.

Requiem determines that the m4v is DRM'd, but gets stuck in the "working" state and never produces an output file.

This is just a progress update.

The media files within the .iBooks package are encrypted. Requiem 4 does not have the iBooks decryption feature. You need to use Requiem 3.3.6. Additionally, you may need to downgrade to iTunes 10.5. iBook decryption was never fully fleshed out by Brahms, and only worked sorta kinda, if you were lucky.

I'll give this a shot in a few hours.

Many people here (excluding myself) are interested in a BD of RotLA with the DVD colors.

There's an ~20GiB 1080i MPEG-2 (Satellite?) recording on Usenet.

I'm not finding that one anywhere.  Any hints you can offer on how it's labeled and/or which group it might be in?  All I see is a 1080i AVCHD of RotLD 3 that's ~8 gigs.

Search for "c-rotla-jp" on NZB.cc.

Warning: the audio is Japanese.

Prolly the closest anyone's gotten to a one-man film.

I've seen that, it's somewhat good. Don't know what it has to do with the thread though...

All cleanup work that can be done has been finished in virtualdub and now I'm starting to sync the French and Spanish audio tracks. But, this is where I am running into a slight problem. The Spanish track is only missing a few seconds that can be patched but the French track is missing entire segments due to the edited nature of the original broadcast. Should I patch the missing parts with the English audio or should I leave the audio track empty in those parts?

Wow, you work fast!

Difficult call. I would say just put in the English track. Better that than nothing. Perhaps someone motivated enough will do a French edit using your file and splicing out the English language parts.

I agree with this suggestion, Tasjo.

Maybe it's because I've been on board since the beginning and that's how she was introduced to me as a character as well as an actress, but I cannot reconcile who she was back then with who she is now.  It's a transformation I simply cannot wrap my head around.

Yep I agree totally, you could have believed her gradual aging about 10 years ago, but since then, I don't know what happened to her......but that interview.... she is HOT!!

J

Agreed!

What filters/settings did you use?

The file was saved using the Huffyuv codec and the only filter used was SpotRemover with all settings disable except for "color correction for yellowish film" to remove the slight yellow tint that the recording has.

OK, sounds good!
