Yes, how did you remove those GREEN sabres? Those very, very GREEN sabres, which aren't RED or BLUE? ;)
The major problem was the green sabers.. if you want other saber examples let me know :)

3rd shot gets him when it cuts away from Chewie to trooper going down in next scene (in fact, one could recreate the scene where Emil gets taken down by Robocop at the gas station - notice how fast Emil flies off his motorcycle. One could show the scout trooper flying off equally fast with added flames on him for added effect)

Also, how would it look to make the reactor look more like a reactor? You know, with more lights or whatnot on it? Good examples abound in films like STEAMBOY, AKIRA and LAPUTA: CASTLE IN THE SKY.

In the The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
in the ending planet construction sequence can be a suitable reference or footage for the DS run.
Having workers working one the DS and flybys from the fighters can be a new POV and a more intence something to the run.
Imaging endless fields of unfinished sections(wide shots) with tiny fighters and capital fighting in the distance while rebel fighters maneuver though the wip section of the station to penetrate to the reactor..

I found one new techique to erase the damn glows and revealing the under detail only with PS filters/ways.
This way leave the footage ready to color correction :D
Here some quick examples of what can this do..
This works removing glows from holos and electricity ;)
