The perspectives are ok :) Its the shape of the building that makes that look awkward.

I was sure it could cause some weird feelings..

If you see this from architecture pov the building makes no sense at all :P

Remember im from an other school from ady..

Besides ady already confirmed that this error is fixed already.. :)

 

However, you've made me notice something subtle that's missing that I would like to see added if possible, which I'll cover as well when I get the chance.  :)

Not actually. If you can see in the shots not all the wall have windows. also the shot when chewie fires the stormies you can clearly see the non window walls :D

I'd say tone down the shade half way between what you have there on the building and the original would sell it.

Well as you saw my reference was the close ups. so the walls had to be so white..

The shadows that may cause this look "videogameish" was an issue really.

In the shot that the falcon lands we have hard shadows from the sun but in the close ups we have soft ones..

Either way the platform matte needs to be redone :D

 

Its funny because in the background buildings SE and not we dont see other platforms but instead the three platforms we see, are in close ups only(and one SE open up).(millenium falcon, slave 1 and vader's arrival)

I dont know if that building has them all or its like a mini docking bay just for the shake of something id like to see other platforms in the distance..

Plus it seems the area that slave and MF is landed is identical from architecture pov

 

Also also when the team tries to stop boba fett when cheie shoots at the ship leia blinks for a sec. anything to be done there?

Considering ady fixed the bad colored matte here is my try :)

Giving it a more dynamic look and now it is round!

Details and all match the live action close ups as well the walls are white and not orange..Still the floor has to be white but..whatever :P

And yes i left the backdrop intact because i was lazy to make a morning one :P

I run the comparison in photoshop :D

I like that some colors actually burned on the falcon giving the retro look..

 

Ady just a thought, considering revisiting your previous ideas.

Have in mind that the building that our heroes land is roundish.. or at least its round from the one side? Im not suggesting alter the design, just give the indication that its round :)

The point is that the extension is a bit cheap...

With copy pastes and bad perspectives..

Plus the backdrop with the bridge has to be overexposed because the camera is set to indoors exposure as well..

In the dvd image was meant to be more accurate.. as you can see in the bridge section is way to contrasty..

Also also as you can see its daylight.. but the sun casts some low hard shadows when it supposed to be up in the sky..

Triple also: In both versions the shuttle casts a shadow ON the shadow areas on the wall.. so that needs fixing :D

Lets FF chose if this going well according with his tastes :)

As for the Emperor thrown room on the dish... Technically it makes sense considering there's a huge shaft that leads down to the reactor and super laser leads to the hyper matter reactor... Either that or it's on the Northern most pole where the original exhaust port was located...  Instead of proton torps, use a Sith Lord. ;)

Well im happy you like the throne in the dish concept..Still i d like to see ways making this possible :D (check my mockups that include dish areas into exterior backgrounds)

Also on DS2 there are 9 beams as the middle of the dish also produces a beam that converges on the focal point before firing (the orginal has 8 beams actually that converge supposedly but in the movie you can only see 7). As for the exact location of the beams/tubes aka superlaser elements... Each super laser element draws directly from the hypermatter reactor prior to firing. The 64 tubes are there on the original Death Star because apparently there are 8 tubes focusing into 1 of 8 converging rooms... Then from these 8 rooms the beam is channeled into the super laser element that converge again to create the planet cracking super laser. Thus your total of 64. =D

Check timestamp 6:40 as to where the location of the Emperor's throne room is on the first Death Star. As for the throne room local on DS2... it's totally ambiguous but if it's like the first Death Star it maybe located around the super laser dish area.

Well Ady said that this fact will be eliminated on the R saga..

 

Well im really glad about the 64 factor.. So you are saying the iconic death star barrel scene is actually one of the 8?

So its actually will be more interesting have a similar shot but have the laser come to our face instead of going away like ANH..

 

Even i found the idea of the throne room is in the dish or near it.. we concluded that this could cause uber perspective problems.. OR the tower pops up in different angle from the round dish and then all being solved with a much more interesting background ;)

Re: to darker falcon here is my proposal of inspiration:

Change the exposure like i said while the camera focuses on two different lighted objects..

sort of.. to get the idea..

Im really interested to know from EU or not where the firing tube of the death star located..

Is supposed to be One?

One from the seven?

Despite the fact that the scale is wrong (as we saw previously in one of the oh_riginal's awesome video mockups) im really concerned how these shots have any meaning to the movie..

Αcording to TFU it gives a better explanation of how the beams are arranged.(see.. EU again)

According to juno's schematics: "There are seven other convergence arrays. The firing tube that the apprentice was in the death star mission was one for the sixty four. All being directed into a single massive beam."

 

Well considering Bingo's idea of the ANH's recycled shot should be something more like a grander(from the front bottom angle), i m thinking some ways to cheat with the physical model and make some parts more visible an grander.

Talking about scales with savmagoett about Death Stars, he stated that the DS 2 is the same as the first. Taking the idea and only that the DSII is 900km big it gives more chances and room for better mattes and locations..

The dish in the 900km death star is so big that can have death star one sit in it. Only that fact and theory begs for a shot of holyness and epicness.

 

Still i want confirmation from you guys how can this work..

Well like i said i am a total noob about Star Trek..

Johnny pointed me the trek site that had HD snapshots..

My first reaction to the matte shots was: Oh my.. Is this for real? are they look so painted in the movie?

So considering that it might be a challenge for me..

But id like to know how radical FF will be in this edit..

Continuity..

In tatooine we got a clear state that this planet has two suns as establishing shot with luke...

In Bespin we dont.. Assumtions and only leading to debates, so get rid the multiple suns..

Tatooine is unique to its kind why bespin has to follow?
