I think at this point Boba Fest has too much baggage, between EU fan expectations and the canon realities of the character. A new Mando allows a completely blank slate (which is what made Boba interesting in the first place).
I think that’s it exactly. As he’d done with so much of the franchise, Lucas milked the character incessantly with backstory of the backstory of the backstory until all mystery and interest had been removed.
The Mandalorian looks like a much needed and wanted reboot of that High Plains Drifter character. I’m signed up and waiting for the first episode.

I’ve cleansed the last three pages of all the bullshit. In the interest of having the thread read somewhat coherently, some of you may have had your posts deleted. Those were just collateral damage because they had quotes of the derailed discussion. If I did have a problem with them being hateful or wildly off-topic, I’ve already reached out to you to explain. If you haven’t heard from me, you haven’t overstepped.

That’s laughable - and typical Lucas. He shrunk the Galaxy Far Far Away into the Solar System Far Far Away by having everyone end up being related to each other. Not a new story, just more of the same one. New characters? He milked Bobba Fett. New technologies‽ He rolled out a second Death Star!
In the interest of disclosure; I’m not familiar with the prequels beyond seeing Phantom once and screen-grabs of scenes from the other two. I just havent seen much beyond video game quality rehashes and spinning colors. I may be way off on the two prequels I’ve never seen.
While there’s no denying The Force Awakens mirrors the same structure as Star Wars, it at least matches visually and has a bigger Death Star.

I’ve long since stopped caring what Lucas lies about these days, so I don’t care if he was unhappy or felt betrayed after Disney bought Star Wars. Lucas has betrayed a great many of us and has done so for decades.
We were so hopeful back then. It looked like all our years of petitioning and keeping a spotlight on the suppression by Lucas was finally about to pay off. Then, the Humdinger Glitch. Here we still are, over a decade later.
Not sure if your serious. However, I am: she’s gorgeous. I know with a background of Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade, she’s going to lean towards comedy. That said, I’d love to see her in a serious role. No doubt she has the chops to carry a film.

I think it’s because the episode numbers becoming a prominent part of the marketing and labeling really only happened for the prequels. Before (and after) that point, the focus was less on the episode number (which we know was mostly a gimmick) and more on the title itself.
That’s the way I prefer it. To me, titles carry more weight than “Episode…”.

Honestly, after mulling over the potential for a Kenobi series for awhile now, it’s kind of hard to imagine it as a movie anymore. In my mind this should be a low-key serialized miniseries, without a lot of characters and locations - mostly just focused on Obi/Ben and his life. That kind of more interior and gradual sort of storytelling tends to play much better on the small screen when it comes to sci-fi/fantasy. A theatrical feature might give the temptation for giant blockbuster level shenanigans, which probably wouldn’t be very fitting for this story.
I agree with all of that. For me, Ben was his best in 77 being the experienced voice in the story. I don’t really remember TPM and never saw the other two prequels, so I don’t know how he’s portrayed after 77.
This could be really interesting as a sort of calmer and more cerebral entry into the TV side. McGregor looks the part now.

I assumed it was a vision as soon as I watched it and I suspect most people did. Not really a slip up on the official discussion leak.
Off of the current direction a bit, it looks like we’ll finally get to see some of that elusive training for Rey. Maybe that will allay some of the criticisms and Mary Sue BS.
Who brought the remote or is she alone and brought it herself? I haven’t watched the trailer enough to see who else may be in that forest setting.
It certainly looks like they put in the work to give us a heavier RO styled series. It’s in great hands with Favreau and Howard. I don’t know how many episodes she’ll end up directing, but they both have a history of being involved with quality work. I’ll be waiting on day one.
She’s long been my pick for the role of Mara Jade if they ever bring her to the screen.

Far from some dank corners of society. Personally, I know four people who openly dislike the strong female characters, as well as the strong, powerful, intelligent females in the real world. All four are degreed office professionals between the ages of 35 and 45. For them , their dislike of females being equal is the actual criticism.

Even if half of the assholes featured actually believe their own misogyny and racism, it’s still too many. Our culture has become toxic and this is an extension of it. If the TV series end up with film level production values, I’d love a series on Enfys Nest. Even just four episodes a year would be nice. Two hours each, like the NBC Mystery Movies of the 70s. You had to wait a while between installments, but they put the extra work into writing and production.
She’s a super interesting character and a very nice step-out from the decades long established characters and stories. Disney is about to have unlimited broadcast time on their hands. No reason not to pour their endless resources into it.

Since Disney has said they’re putting the film side on extended hiatus, I can see them going with a Kenobi series. They’re rolling out a streaming service so this would make perfect sense. Plus there seems to be a huge audience for it who’ve been waiting and wondering for several years. I’m a little surprised this wouldn’t get a go before the Cassian series. Ben is a beloved figure on both sides of the fan base.
