I finally decided to watch ST: Into Darkness. I watched it with a completely open-mind, even though I love the old movies and knew this was getting some flak. Overall, to me it felt like a lazy rehash of The Wrath Of Khan. Everything they borrowed, they did worse. Not only that, but the way the whole movie went together was so disjointed. Now I understand why so many people felt let down by it. It was more of a sci-fi action movie, than it was a Star Trek one.

Meh...Star Trek movies have basically been generic sci-fi action movies since 1994. IMO, the major difference between the J. J. Trek movies and Star Trek VII-X is that now they're at least watchable sci-fi action movies.

I need a good subtitle for R2.  I'm gonna make this another subtitle contest, so best suggestion wins an end credit.  I will say that if you can come up with a good Arnold Schwarzenegger one-liner, you've got a really good shot.

How about one of these?

"We're cool, we're badasses, blah, blah, blah."

"I don't know what the problem is, but I'm sure it can be solved without resorting to violence."

"It's showtime!"

"I need a vacation."

"The only problem I've got is that I'm doing your job."

"Who do you think I look like? Dirty Harry?"

"Don't give up your day job."

"You have no respect for logic."

"Alright, enough philosophy."

What number of changes we on now doubleofive (without joking please) or rough guestimation on your last count?
Impossible to say. Thankfully I think Adywan will be doing the official Visual Comparison again, which is great as I won't have to try to figure out what changed frame-by-frame (which we had to do with the Special Edition VCs since ILM never replied to my emails). Scanning the list I'm sure there are a few things that aren't on there, but I can say that most of it is covered by the list.

If I had to guess a number, it might be this.

What's the largest number you can think of?

Have Luke ask Yoda several times, "Is ______ my father?"

Fill in the blank with various names/dialogue Luke has said throughout the movies: Princess Leia, Ben Kenobi, Han, Biggs, Master Yoda, R2, Threepio, my father, the Death Star, the tower, Jabba, Aunt Beru, Luke Skywalker, attack pattern delta, etc.  The possibilities are endless.

Every time he asks, show Yoda with a skeptical/disappointed look on his face, or have him say no.  Have Luke ask again, and fill in the blank with a different name.  Repeat.

Awesome idea. You could also lift Mark Hamill dialogue from outside the films as well (i.e., from interviews and suchforth).

"Is George my father?"

"Is Carrie my father?"

"Is the Joker my father?"

Etc.
