MSN's Most Disturbing Nude Scenes
Time
Back on Topic ... I can dig Jamie Lee's ta-tas in any film. And I totally dig Renee Russo's ta-tas in Thomas Crown (and if there are others, pop it in). I can even dig Janet Jackson's ta-tas during a friendly game of football. As long as they aren't sagging or wrinkled, don't be afraid to show your stuff to the world, I say!

Nudity we don't need more of usually involves swinging pee-pees. For example:
Harvey Keitel in "The Piano."
Kevin Bacon in "Wild Things."
Frank Langella in "Lolita." (That gave me nightmares for weeks).

In the words of Hank Hill: "It's called the double standard, Bobby. Don't knock it, we got the long end of the stick on that one." No pun intended.

.: The XØ Project - Laserdisc on Steroids :. (SEE FIRST POST FOR UPDATES) (* unfinished project *)
Time
Let's say, for argument's sake, that the picture quality is perfect on the new release. The sound is still not going to be as rich as the PCM from the XØ Project.

My belief on the new release is that they should make both crawls available on "Star Wars" via a multi-angle option. It's ten-year-old technology so there is no excuse for it not being done.

PCM being too much to expect from LFL, I would still expect them to release the REAL mono soundtrack as an option for SW, and the ORIGINAL 5.1 mix for Jedi. They created a real 5.1 mix (wasn't it the first in history, sparking the now-ubiquitous surround-sound trend?) so it only makes sense that it should be preserved.

2.0 is fine for ESB, though there are some notably different mixes. I personally think every official mix on each film pre-SE should be included. I'll keep wishing.

This is SUPPOSED to be a preservation of sorts from LFL, but it already sounds like a money-grabbing hack job. I'll buy it to protect my license and give George his pound of flesh, then likely watch the XØ Project release instead. The lawyers shouldn't have a problem with that, should they?

P.S. I hope you guys will update the x0project.com home page soon with info on why your work is still important. Call Lucas out on the carpet for what has been announced thus-far.

ITS HAPPENED-- OOT AVAILABLE FROM LUCASFILM
Time
I go away for one day and look at all the good that happens. Maybe I should stay gone all together.

Words can hardly express my joy. My hypothesis has been proven wrong ... that he was waiting for Blu-Ray to release this. Apparently Lucas is making one final cash-grab before DVD gets relegated to the dust-bin of history. I for one will be pre-ordering the moment it goes onto Amazon. And once my money officially places it on hold, I will feel justified in selling off my 2004 set while I can still get a wee bit of cash for it. Given that the new set will have both editions, I don't mind at all. My two versions of E.T. co-exist peacefully, even if one never gets played.

Now, the big question remains: will the "unaltered" trilogy be truly unaltered as Daniel B. (like Voldemort, I do not fear to speak that evil name) would have it, or will the garbage mattes be removed as part of color correction. I'm all for the removal of garbage mattes. My question from 18 months ago stands: For how many of you would that constitute an "altered" trilogy, vs being the O-OT?

Other smaller questions remain:
Will there be an optional angle with the original crawl in Star Wars?
Will there be options for the original sound mixes (including the rare mono mix)?
What will Beru sound like?
Will Luke say Blast it Biggs or Blast it Wedge?
Will Artoo not taste good, or will he just be lucky to get out of there?
Will the lightsabers and explosions be the right color?
Will we all get invited to The Ranch for the premiere?

24 - Day 5
Time
Here be spoilers ... read at your own risk.

I continue to wonder why I'm so addicted to the show when the writing is so positively abyssmal so much of the time. Jack is a complete badass -- one of TV's coolest characters ever -- yet the writers give short shrift to his supporting cast, regularly channelling their inner Roger Corman. I just don't get it some times.

Case in point this week: Chloe zapping the obnoxious dude was priceless. One of the highlights of the year for me. But then nothing came of it. Now, anybody who has heard a tazer go off in a quiet room knows every head turns to know what the hell that sound was. Nobody looked. Then apparently nobody noticed the body slouched beside her for half an hour. I wanted fallout to come as a result of this, because Chloe is an analyst, not a field agent. She would make a tactical error like that that could jeopardize what she's doing. But her no-B.S. demeanor would brilliantly devise a way to talk herself out of pretty much anything. Great potential, horrible execution once again.

For anybody who finds some of the finer points of the show wretched (as I do) but still can't get enough, check out Dave Barry's 24 Blog at the Miami Herald. Truly priceless commentary.

Superman Movie
Time
I think the idea of the story gives the film promise. I haven't had a warm fuzzy about the casting (except Spacey as Lex, natch) or the screw-up in Supe's costume (dark burgundy != red). It's all going to be in the execution. Singer is 4 for 4 wiith me, which means either he's gonna pull a rabbit out of his hat for this, or that he's going to have his Ishtar. Either could happen.

Unless its universally panned, I'll likely make a point of seeing this film in 3D IMAX once, then wait for the Donner Cut of Superman II to come out on DVD. That's the REAL Superman movie I'm waiting for.

BEAUTIFUL WOMEN NEW RULES IN FIRST POST (NSFW) UPDATED RULES
Time
I consider Kiera to be quite the Classic Beauty, even if she's a modern-day actress. Here's a not-so classic shot of Kiera in a bikini pumping ... iron. Since it's not a shot in the Classic style of her, I'm linking to it.

Now, the more traditional Classic Beauty, Princess Grace Kelly:

Grace in the water
Grace in royal getup
More Grace
Even more grace
Return of the son of the bride of more Grace, Part II, the Revenge

i don't understand what you mean? you don't think adam is charismatic?

Correct. He's like a young, male Sandra Bernhardt. One of those people who manages to get work in Hollywood in spite of acting talent or looks. See, Paul Giamatti is ugly as sin, but he can make you believe he's anybody he portrays. Brad Pitt is a worse actor than Elvis, but he's got looks that keep women lining up. IMO, Adam Brody seems to have none of the blessings and all of the curses.

Then again, I'm a dude. I suppose I'm not good at grading other dudes. But suffice it to say that this dude just doesn't see what draws women to that dude.
