Currently remixing the Pulse Leftovers disc. One of the spleen guys got DJ the ambient soundscapes track which is tripping me out right now (and I don't use!)

This alt. version of One of These Days sounds fantastic. One Slip sounds pretty weak though. I could use the one from Delicate Sound of Thunder VHS, but that would be cheating.

Is Dune a good movie?

Beautifully said. No picture book in the world can capture the essence of what it is like to stand in the Vatican's Sistine Chapel or China's Forbidden City. That doesn't mean such books shouldn't exist.

The Hobbit starting in 2007?

The Silmarillion is unfinished. Therefore, it lacks that polish and cohesiveness. I personally found it a real chore to read, but not bad looking back on it. Not sure I'd read it again, though. Being that it has a slow building plot, few characters that continue throughout the entire book, and no real hero, at least not one who is in the entire book, I don't see how anyone can do a mini-series with it.

Hence why I think a miniseries is the only way to do it. Since there are lots of individual storylines, each would adapt nicely to their own one-hour presentation. Kinda like From The Earth To The Moon, where each episode focused on a different set of characters, many of which weren't present in other episodes.

Episode V: What Has Changed?

If Ian McD had just re-recorded the Clive Revill dialogue with no additions, fewer people would have cried foul. But instead Lucas over-exposes (as usual) and opens a massive continuity problem that WASN'T addressed in ROTS. Hence, it's just a stupid glitch that the O-OT doesn't have.

Interesting, for all the "fixes" they talk about, they ignore how much they screwed up the sabers, especially in this film. That saber shot while Luke hangs in the Wampa's cave tells you everything. Is the 2004 shot really an improvement?

But, I guess it's fitting that Vader's saber is now pink. Lucas and Hayden pussified the rest of the character in the PT. This was just the final log on the funeral pyre.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. Lucas was more concerned with selling new toys than realizing that by Ep III we should have seen the classic fighters and the Falcon in their prime.
