You have to ask is it worth it to you? but if the OT is what you are after, these new DVD's(v3) will blow away the OT on Laserdisc, plus you will have all the audio options as well as anamorphic widescreen.

soon as v3 set is done and I am done ripping audio from my LD's, I am going to retire the player and LD's forever.

Irn-bru, a few months ago I brought the exact same LD player but with the 97SE Trilogy for £200 off ebay, so I would say £75 is a good deal. That said I brought mine with the intention of capturing the 97SEs onto my PC and then reselling the player and discs once I was done.

When the CLD-925 first arrived I tried it out on my Parents 40" Toshiba HD TV to check it worked, etc. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised as to the picture quality. I wasn't cringing like I do when I watch a VHS on the same TV.

Like dark_jedi said it down to you to decide if its worth it or not. I hope this helped.

£75 is a great price for that deal.  Do not hesitate.

I might give £75 for dark_jedi's Elite -- if he's gonna retire it forever ;)

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

It's not a bad price - I paid about £90 for mine with no discs.

This recent auction went for £81 (included 62 discs)

They must have dropped in price considerably in the last year.  I bought a Pioneer LD player about a year ago, which was unfortunately damaged in transit, and it was a fair amount more than that; and compared to other auctions I thought that was a good deal.  My OT laserdiscs were £35 about the same length of time ago, and that was not bad compared to other prices I saw then.

My Pioneer DVL-90 Elite made in Japan cost me about $135.00 USD, used.  It did come with the original remote and in excellent condition.  I believe I got a manual as well.

My Japan pressing of the SE LD sets cost a bit as well, so in my opinion, you've been offered a really good deal.

:)

Lucky bastards :-) I paid _alot_ more for my pristine C2ex, also the Mdp 999 was not cheap 30kg from Japan :-)

Since none of the uber players can play Pal im thinking of modifying a 925 later on.
