Worst song covers EVER!

Author
Time
Okay, I need everybody's help with finding the collection of the worst song covers ever done. A little background:

Every year my sister and I trade gag gifts for Christmas. Some examples: a garden sculpture made of elephant dung, testicles for an SUV, lead remover pads (my sister is a very slow runner/skater). This last Christmas my sister gave me a homemade David Hasselhof (sp?) calendar, which was laughingly horrendous (sorry if there are any fans in the house - I like Knight Rider when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago.) Anyway, my family and I listened to some of the songs he had on Itunes and laughed about how bad they were (These Boots Were Made for Walking was especially atrocious). Anyway, I know it's really early, but I'm thinking about putting together a CD for her for next Christmas of the worst covers ever, including some of "The Hoff's" work.

So if you know of any really bad examples that might be useful, please let me know. I've already got an eye on Pat Boone's "No More Mr. Nice Guy" CD and Richard Cheese's "Lounge Against the Machine." I don't necessarily want intentionally bad - unintentional humor is much better.

Anyway, thanks for reading the long post, and for any contributions you might have to make.

In 2002, There was UK band named Blazin Squad who did a disgraceful cover of the Bone Thugs N Harmony classic " Crossroads". how that cover got to #1, i'm really confused

In the same year Gareth Gates did a bastardization cover of the Elvis Presley song "Suspicious Minds".
"Yub Knub" by Warrick Davis

Britney Spears' cover of Satisfaction
Britney Spears' cover of My Prerogative
Dixie Chicks' cover of Fleetwood Mac's Landslide
Guns n' Roses desecration of Live & Let Die

That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure I'll find more later.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

William Shatner's version of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds is absolutely atrocious, but if looked at from a comedy standpoint it is absolute bloody genius.

I recall that "We Built this City (of Rock and Roll)" by Jefferson Starship was rated #1 of the worst 100 songs in rock history on VH1.

Oh, you might want to add "Pipeline" by Depeche Mode.

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

How about Marilyn Manson's cover of "Personal Jesus"? Now, don't call me a hater, because I like most of Manson's other work, including his covers, but that one was cra-ap.

How about Korn's cover of "Just Another Brick in the Wall"? I almost vomited all over the inside of my car the first time I heard that on the radio.

On the other hand, I really love how Scissor Sisters' cover of Comfortably Numb pi$$es off all the hardcore Floyd fans.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

You gotta love Tom Jones, but did you ever hear his rendition of Prince's "Kiss?" Wretched.

Britney Spears "I Love Rock and Roll" is another. Her dumb ass was quoted as saying she covered it because she really loves Pat Benatar. Think about it.

There's some awful version of "A Whiter Shade of Pale" that's been on Lowes' muzak system for about a year now every time I go in. It sounds like Celine but it isn't. I don't know who it is, but that one is just vomitocious. It's probably somewhere on here.

Or the cover of the same song by Luther Wright and the Wrongs

Yeah, but the Luther Wright and the Wrongs version is bluegrass, like Hayseed Dixie. It is designed to evoke a specific reaction.

not really a cover but...

Some new song that uses Tainted Loves music in the back ground, makes me mad!

I hated that hip-hop song that used Slayer's "Raining Blood" in the background.

And that hip-hop song that had Ozzy's "Crazy Train" intro....

I wonder if you could set "Raining Blood" to the tune of "It's Raining Men." You could really freak people out on Karaoke Night with that.

Kinda like when, on my 21st Birthday, two of my best friends and I got up and sung, in three part harmony, to the horror of the entire bar, "Shiny Happy People F'ing Dogs." Uncensored, of course.

There should be a law that nobody should be allowed to cover his royal badness.
