He claimed his daughter died in a terrorist attack (I think…it could have been a natural disaster, don’t recall specifically). The staff felt (rightly so IMO) that they had enough evidence that he was lying to ban him.

I hope they were right. Would be horrible to loose your child and then be banned from a place you like because the Mods don’t believe you.

It would be simple to just state why a user was banned when the hammer drops. I don’t see why that’s a problem. Maybe I’m not seeing the full picture.

No. That was a separate incident in which Solo threatened to skin “you a!!” [sic] because we couldn’t understand what he was saying.
To the best of the forum’s knowledge, Solo was lying about his daughter. The list of victims did not match with what Solo described. This incident happened about two months after the “kin you a!!” [again, sic] incident. More discussion here.

Or if something of an explanation and whether it’s temporary or permanent could be added to the user page upon banning.
