What other spinoffs should Disney make? — Page 2

Creaky memory here – but didn’t George Lucas used to say that he had some idea for a Droid only movie with no human characters?

I think you could do a really good movie exploring exactly what the hell is going on with the Droids in the Star Wars universe.

Weren’t the prequels about two droids who fell in love even though they weren’t supposed to, and one turned into Darth Vader at the end?

I don’t see why films about the Sith Empire or the Mandolorian Wars would need to take the place of the PT though.

I agree. Besides you are also right about the PT perception: people who don’t share their views on forums/threads (99% of a movie audience) do like the PT. I wouldn’t want a PT reboot, there are 3 canon movies, like them or not, but it’s time to go on.

Would love something set in the Old Republic times or the pre-Republic times. The formation of the Jedi and Sith, the wars with the Sith and Mandos, etc.

Nope.

As much as it pains me to say it the number would be in the around the 80 percentile. But a decent part of that is due to us living in the Age of Contrarian.

Well, it’s a little bit over average, isn’t it ? What are the figures for IV-V-VI ? (in order to normalize the results, we will consider V to be 100%).

edit:

Rotten tomatoes:
IV: 94/96
V: 94/97
VI: 80/94

IMDB:
IV: 87
V: 88
VI: 84
VII: 84

So, if you normalize if V taken as 100%:
I : 74
II : 76
III: 86
IV : 99
V : 100
VI : 95
VII: 95

So, yeah: people do prefer the OT (and OT related, i.e. Ep VII), but they also like the PT.

“A bit over average” is a far cry from 99% or even 91%.

V: 94/97
VI: 80/94
VII: 93/90

IMDb:
IV: 87
V: 88
VI: 84
VII: 84

JEDIT: We posted these at the same time but I added VII as well.

There’s no need to normalize anything, they’re already on a scale of 100. People prefer the OT (with TFA on par with ROTJ) and are meh at best on the PT. Scores in the 60’s are not good.

The normalization is used to compare results within a same batch, as a whole “SW perception”. Does not change too much thing anyway.

Most people don’t care for the prequels. Deal with it. How relevant is comparing them to the original trilogy when we’re discussing rebooting the prequels? Not relevant at all.

Besides making TESB 100 is innacurate as there will always be some (very few) that would not give it 10/10 and instead 9/10.

For the record, I never meant to suggest that most people like the prequels. I only meant that most people don’t obsessively despise them the way everyone does here, and they happen to tie directly into TCW, which is a very important part of Star Wars for a lot of actual children, so it doesn’t seem appropriate to blow the whole thing up just to appease the most bitter segment of the fan base.

Most people don’t care ? That’s hardly the issue dude. PT is canon, deal with it yourself.

Anyway, it is true and Disney is never going to make them non-canon. So a PT reboot is wishful thinking. People who don’t like the PT should get over it, it’s been 11 years now since the last one.

Thank you. I want to see a spin-off about the Hundred-Year Darkness (the Jedi-Sith split).

Darth Bane stuff ? I’m on !

Ditto. Just wish they didn’t ruin him in TCW.

Also I don’t know if you’re joking or not.

Was it necessary to misspell both “opportunity” and “necessary?”
