The TIEs that we see in the movies actually being "TIE LNs", with TIEs actually being a predeccesor and T.I.E. being a predeccesor to that.

How Boba Fett bests Han Solo in Scoundrels. Only to make Fett seem cool.
I liked the book well enough until he was in it.
Those Han Solo books by Daley were fine without Fett or the Empire.
“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.
So, some EUphiles think that the Jedi committing genocide against the Sith is justified. Whatever happened to the Jedi using the Force only for knowledge and defense, never for attack?
I've bitched long and hard about how the EU fucked up the Sith following the release of the PT, but I haven't spat nearly enough venom towards their post-PT depiction of the Jedi. Oh, sure -- outside of the PT era, they're allowed to pop the question and raise kids. In all other regards, though, they're just like the PT Jedi -- conceited, corrupt, murderous hypocrites.
This image
makes me sad.
Vodo Siosk-Baas, like Yoda, should not be shown wielding a lightsaber.

I agree so much. Where did you come across this image?
It apparently comes from the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook.
If I had a Top Thirty Most Loathed SW Retcons list, the one about Exar Kun not inventing the double-bladed lightsaber would definitely be in there.
Has anyone actually spent the last 30 years wondering what Palpatine's first name was?
I didn't even know Empy had a NAME until the mid-90s and I was happy.
I wondered what it was, yes, but I didn't obsess over it.

Honestly, it never even occured to me to ask.
So, in the NuEU/CANON is Palpy's first name a secret? Is it just a coincidence no one has ever used it before? In the novel, did someone break into a safe and find his birth certificate? Or did it just slip out "Oooo, good morning Sheev."
I liked the first name for Palpatine that David West Reynolds came up with for the TPM Visual Dictionary: "Ethril."
But then again, perhaps the anagram was a bit too on-the-nose. Maybe that's why GL directed him to cut it from the text.
But of course, that would require GL to be subtle and clever.
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
As for what I really hate about the EU:
That the head honchos at Lucasfilm apparently think there can be only one official "canon" at any given time.
What ever happened to stuff like that parallel-universe Infinities comic book series Dark Horse put out several years ago? I miss those days.

But that was explicitly labelled as non-canon.

Seriously. It practically gives away that he's "The Lir"

An implicitly labeled as poop.

Tell me about it. It's like someone when to fanfiction.net, stole someone's subpar AU stories, and then had them published.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)

Obviously the Emperor was the one who LIT HER.
My favorite Palpatine first name is "Cosinga". A good nod to the rough draft.

Leia has a death stick addiction?!
NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've never liked this story:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Shadows_and_Light
Only a few years have passed since the end of the Great Sith War, and we already have Jedi clinging to the "no attachments" rule? And not in a personal "I choose this path for myself" fashion, but in a dogmatic "to do otherwise would go against Jedi teachings" way.
There are worse examples out there of the TOTJ era being infected with prequelisms, but this story is the first one I became exposed to, and as such I hold a special loathing towards it.
How Luke didn't end up with Mara at the end of the Thrawn trilogy, went through all those girlfriends, and when he finally ended up with Jade she dies. Like wat.
A number of years did pass between their marriage and her death, y'know. ;-)

Suddenly I'm reminded of Blue Milk Special.
Also, take it from me, kids (speaking from experience): Smoking is bad. Don't do it, OK?

Sounds like the sort of curse REH's Conan the Cimmerian would utter: "Lir and Manannan mac Lir!"
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
