Actually, no matter how good OOT is, there’s nothing like playing the 3 Zelda CD-I games! Hehehe

Swift Sail takes care of that and it’s available pretty early on.
Alright, quit braggin’.
Skyward Sword is my favorite game of all time!
Anyone who puts SS, or any other LoZ game for that matter, above OoT is not a True Zelda Fan™.
Maybe a Phantom Fan. But never a True.
MM is close, though.

A Link To The Past
This. ALTTP is more consistent and I enjoyed the soundtrack and the dungeons more. OOT being in 3D isn’t enough to ignore ALTTP’s superior game design.
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link gets a bad rap, for being a crappy game. It was different than the 1st game, but it introduced other elements to the new world of Zelda. Plus, many funny memes & tshirts.

ALTTP is amazing, no doubt, but let’s not lose our minds.

I’ve never played OoT and MM. I honestly don’t see the hype regarding those two. They didn’t even exist when I was a kid. Only The Legend of Zelda and Link II and A Link to the Past. I was 10 in 1989.
In my opinion, LOZ, AOL, ALTTP, MC & SS are all better than OOT. And OOT is fantastic!

Too late. Killed everybody.

Then for all you know the hype is justified. And, it is. They are amazing in ways that words can’t convey. OOT in particular is almost like a spiritual journey.

But… I never said MM was as good or better than OOT, I just said close.

It is the single work that established video games as a bona fide art form.
It is a masterpiece, by the standards of any other work of art ever produced.
And the Gerudo warriors?
HAWT!!!

Was OOT the first Zelda game you ever played?
Nope. A link to the past was, which I also absolutely adore. But to say it’s as good as OOT is in my opinion just nostalgia talking, although it is a fantastic game and I play it at least every two years.

I don’t think ALttP is as good or better or worse as OoT since I mentioned I never played it and have no desire to. Not even through emulation.
I’d rather play Dark Souls, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., The Witcher Trilogy, METRO, and okay.
I’ve been with the Zelda series from it’s beginning. It’s cool to look back on it’s evolution.
I haven’t played the 3DS games. Trains and Hourglass don’t look very good, but I’d like to play A Link Between Worlds. I might get a 3DS someday. It would be cool to play the remakes of Ocarina and Majora too.

Well thanks for chiming in to tell us a game you’ve never played isn’t worth the hype, I guess.

Eh, the remakes aren’t so much remakes as just emulations with a few spruced up graphics. Imho texture packs on project64 look overall better anyway. (Although I will admit the 3ds versions have better models but they kinda stick out because they clash with the art style)
^ I started playing through OOT with a cel shaded style texture pack. It looked great, but there were several things that still had the original textures and it really broke the experience. That was several years ago I think. Maybe they’ve got a complete pack now?
Probably, but I wouldn’t like cell shading in OOT. I prefer one that retains the feel of the original graphics just in high def, more detailed etc. Cell shading doesn’t fit with the models very well I don’t think.
For me it’s
Those are the only ones I played for more than an hour. We didn’t have an SNES growing up so aside from getting to go over and play on friend’s super nintendos, I didn’t get as much exposure to those games as I’d have liked. We went from NES to N64.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Alttp is amazing man you should try it. Definitely worth playing. Amazing tone and vibe.
I think I’ve owned LTTP on every system possible. SNES, GBA, WiiU, 3DS. Also, Link Between Worlds is pretty great.
I used to try to beat it once a year on whatever platform I had it on, but I actually don’t think I’ve beat it more than once, so I’m not sure why I bring it up.

Have you ever tried the MSU-1 hack that replaces all in game music with symphonic versions? It’s an emulator hack that lets you replace the music in SNES games with PCM wav files. (I’m actually working on a pack myself for the Mega Man X games to have my brand of metal as a soundtrack, but that’s off topic and I’ll post more about it when it’s done) It’s pretty rad. And easier to work than you’d think.
