Top 100 - best of post-1983 SW

This thread is an olive branch to Darth Axia. She's not nearly as strident or irritating as other Lucasites, so I'd like for us to post 100 different enjoyable post-1983 Star Wars items in tribute. Whether it's entire movies (not bloody likely!), songs, characters, whatever. I'd like to show the lady Darth that we don't hate post-Jedi whole-cloth.

I'll start with five:

1) Double-bladed lightsaber. Awesome!

2) "Droids" the animated series

3) "Duel of the Fates"

4) The Knights of the Old Republic games

5) The 1997 ending music in ROTJ. A definite improvement over the original. (The fact that the movie shouldn't have been altered in the first place doesn't change my opinion about the music)

Come on, guys! We're not always negative, are we?

Not when it isn't justified.  Well, not always.  We have our moments.

6) Star Wars on DVD.  Maybe not the way most of us want it, but still...  We have cool documentaries and cut scenes.  That's a plus in my book.

7) Dark Horse's Dark Empire series.  It seems a bit clone-heavy now, but it was awesome to have Star Wars in my shopping bag again.

8) New Star Wars toys.  Sure it took a while for Leia to not look like a chimp, but now the figures look great!  Maybe I should buy one or two.

9) Star Wars Chronicles.  If you don't have the original, you can't call yourself a fan.

10) Behind the Magic CD-ROM.  You have any idea how long I've wanted to see Biggs and Luke and Anchorhead.  This was huge.

I agree with you about those. I especially liked the Luke & Leia ceremonial action figures (yes, I bought them). ;-)

Not a fan of the SW Chronicles, though. Didn't buy it.

I'll add:

11) The GOUT. Better than the laserdiscs and a hell of a lot better than VHS. Plus, SW has the original crawl (that's gotta count for something!)

12) The Making Of Star Wars book. Probably the best SW-related book ever.

13) The Anthology CD boxed set.

14) The 70mm Film Collectables from Willitts Designs.

15) The SE 2-disc soundtracks...except for the new ROTJ music (sorry, the 1997 John Tesh/new age finale music is crap!) :-P

Yub Nub!!!!!!!!! ;-)

17) Various amazing LucasArts Star Wars games throughout the nineties, such as X-Wing, Tie-Fighter, Dark Forces, and much later, the Rogue Squadron series. X-Wing PC game.

18) Timothy Zahn.

19) Star Tours (you know you loved it).

I agree, Axia cannot even be compared in the slightest to many of the obsessive Lucas apologists we have had come our way over the lifetime of this site.

20) Lego Star Wars - The Original Trilogy.

Way to be so broad C3PX. I was going to list each individual SW video game that I liked but you put the kibosh on that, how else will we reach 100 ;)

If there's ones we don't agree can we subtract them eg ROTJ ending :)

21) Ewan McGregor. The character may not have been perfect but the casting was.

22) Liam Neeson. Totally superfluous character but man was he a ray of sunshine.

23) I might as well add Star Wars Lego (I'm assuming point 8 referred to the Kenner/Hasbro lines).

+1 on the GOUT. It may be no where near what we wanted or what the original films deserve but to me it's better then nothing for now.

24) Seven dollar fully retractable lightsabers with belt clips from Hasbro that hit stores in the late 90's early 00's. Durable and cheap. Beat the crap out of them dueling with friends and the only thing that gets broken are you fingers, if one does happen to break, dish out another meager seven bucks and your good to go. Looks great retracted, not a replica by any means, but still pretty cool. And they have a freakin belt clip!!!

25) Tie Fighter.

26) Dark Forces.

27) Rogue Squdron 1-3.

He he I was just kidding around C3PX

28) The "Super" series for the SNES. Super SW / TESB / ROTJ.

Whoa, almost halfway there already. Though I think you got a redundant one on there Sky, I already mentioned Timothy Zahn, which would include the Trawn Trilogy.

53.  The other Star Wars arcade game by SEGA... if I'm not mistaken there are two.

54.  Episode I.  Here comes the flaming...

55.  the Episode I videogame - yup, really reaching here...

56.  Jedi Knight series of video games (all of them are just incredible... dark forces as well, but someone already got to that)

57.  The fanedit community; maybe this shouldn't count, but it does for me.  If I hadn't stumbled upon the Darth Editous edit I wouldn't be here today.  Plus, they ROCK!

58.  Star Wars Starfighter - neat plot to this game...

59.  The revived interest thanks to the prequels.  The movies are in "meh" territory (save for episode I) for me, but if not for them I wouldn't be the Star Wars freak I am now; a little less obsessed.

Well, that's about all I got...

The current version of the forum software doesn't always strip out MS Office junk when people paste text from Word. Conversely, Firefox is happy to ignore this junk and display the thread, but MSIE doesn't like it and throws a strop.

Anyway, should be fixed for IE users now.

64. Star Wars Legos

I'm assuming that that is the same as Star War Lego, in that case strike that one off as I already said it.

I'm also assuming you are American, because Lego is singular apart from the U.S where everyone seems to think it's a plural.

Not trying to pick on you just a pet hate of mine.

It's U.S. instead of "U.S".

Why are you even adding things to the list, Axia? This thread was made for us to make a list for you.

I'm not participating because I think it's rather futile, but still.

DarkFather, I don't think that was particularly the case.  BUT, my question is, why the same list both times? @_@

Someone pointed out that number 64, lego(s), had been done so I changed that one.
