I’m only being lightheartedly snarky anyway, I don’t hate fo or anything. Sometimes his posts are annoying but the same can be said for anybody, me included I’m sure.

I used to think the ignore function was silly but now I’m thinking using it on Fo is the only way I’m going to avoid a permanent ban. Of course now that I might actually need it, it has been taken away.
I’ll miss most of you guys.
If you could control your impulse to respond to anything and everything with snarky-ass or needless comments there would be no need for the ignore function. In your favor, you are not the only one who does this, but I think you snarkily showing off your dislike of rules only encourages others to follow you. They see that you don’t get tagged for it so they continue in the same vein and they don’t get tagged for it. I believe it caused far more conflict than should be necessary for off topic to thrive.
I don’t openly challenge you because I don’t like you, I do it because no-one else does it, and you kept getting away with your behavior. I have been called many, many names and such because of it. bkev has been the only other outspoken challenger. We are drawn as the problem here because our concerns are over-shadowed by your behavior.
Now, I will say, I have seen you post kind and thoughtful things, and I believe they are genuine. Maybe you’ve spent so much time trying to hide your real self that the personality you’ve become is how you truly see yourself. It’s a guess only. I’m no physician. Maybe my problem is that I have more faith in people and things than I should.

His entire signature is solely devoted to complaining about off topic. Granted it isn’t as fun as it used to be but these things come and go and I still enjoy the people here that I’m used to and I’m sure it’ll pick up again. If it’s so unenjoyable what is he getting out of staying just to complain all the time.
Not asking or wanting him to leave, just kind of tired of constant bitching about a place you choose to be in.

I hate to point this out but you’re complaining too by complaining about my sig(not bkev). It’s the double-standards in here that ruin a completely good conversation, not someone’s sig about things one found funny. I even have Jay’s jab at me quoted in my sig for good measure at it shows I CAN laugh at myself.
Some of you others need to come back down to earth as well. Maybe when the shake up happens everyone will realize they play a part in how things go here, not just some.

There is also a difference in being part of the problem and being part of the solution if I’m not mistaken. You gladly take the support of your fellow members when you have a problem in life and I have been one of your supporters because I am sincere about things getting better for you. Why is it so hard then for some of that support being returned to the place you are trying to enjoy to help make it better? If you can’t see that difference then I don’t know what to tell me either.

I’ll follow suit here by saying that even though he has me on “spiritual ignore,” which evidently consists of occasionally badmouthing me in nonresponsive ways, Duracel makes frequent posts that are downright hilarious and admirably clever.
He’s frankly a big reason I return here.

Yes, and if you’ll notice I repeatedly say that I don’t dislike you or want you to leave and am just providing input to what I think would lead to a more enjoyable experience on this forum for you, and I also go out of my way to make it clear that I’m only joking when I do say something snarky to you.
^ I guess it can be difficult to tell at times. The internet is cold. I want the experience to be enjoyable for everyone as well but I sometimes wonder if we have some that may not want that. They may only care if it is enjoyable for themselves. My point was that we all have an opportunity when we respond to someone. We can either try and be helpful or as Jay suggests, we say nothing if we can’t keep it nice. We all fail at this, myself included, probably due to the mindset that I’ve become accustomed to around here.
Changing it will be a challenge but I am more than willing to adjust. This only helps if everyone else feels the same way and is willing to do so. Me doing it alone will not change things and that is the hardest message to convey when people’s opinions are already set in stone.
