That ought to be a fun listen!

And can someone isolate the drums from that? I like the idea and it wouldn’t feel like tracked music from TPM if it’s just the drums.

I… don’t think a force vision of Chewie sounds too exciting though.

I isolated the drums with some online AI service. I didn’t want to pay just to be able to download it, so I just did an Audacity loopback recording of the output they gave. Hopefully that doesn’t affect the quality too much?

For what it’s worth, I’ve already tested this before even without the isolation, and due to the sound of the water you couldn’t make out any background music to begin with. I think this will sound fine. I’d test it myself but I’m a bit busy tonight. I couldn’t help myself with doing this part, though, haha.

Awesome, thanks! I’ll see how it plays but I agree that it oughtta make that little gap in the music feel better.

And that podcast episode was fun to hear. They focused on Spence’s edit ‘The Final Order,’ acknowledging this project as its source material and sort of talking about both at once.

Ideally, I always wanted the DS2 duel to be this big medley of songs from throughout the saga. The Rey vs Kylo soundtrack from TFA would be the main track, while Duel of the Fates, Battle of the Heroes, and A Jedi’s Fury would come in and out at different times. Sadly, it hasn’t been feasible before, really.

Especially since no version of Solo I’d ever want to see would keep the Darth Maul scene, I just thought it was perfect to use the music from it. There was a TROS TV spot that had a little DOTF music playing over a snipped of the duel too.

Edit: I? We? I can’t remember anymore.

I do like the slow version of DotF, but I feel like Rey and Ben’s final battle should at least have some hint of their duel theme.

I do feel like DoTF is more fitting thematically, though. If it’s just the same song as the one from TFA that doesn’t really tell you anything extra. Them fighting is just an elaborate spectacle for Kylo to get Rey to tap into the dark side again. Sure, the track from TFA makes those parallels more apparent, but I’d much prefer the track to add another level of interpretation to the fight.

Consider that Rey has had a vision of herself on the Sith throne. And the end result of the fight is that Rey thinks her fate is inevitable. Therefore, I think it’s extremely fitting to place a track called “Duel of the Fates” over top of their fight. Especially since their duel also leads Kylo to reconsider his destiny and he chooses to become Ben Solo again.

The 3PO TROS voice is up and operational. What lines did we want? I can also redo some of the lines I’ve previously submitted. Here are some example lines to demonstrate the new voice:

If some of these don’t sound fully robotic (11labs tends to remove that voice filter slightly), I know the technique used to apply it back. I just figured I should get some feedback first.

The “spy” line sounds perfectly read by the AI. I had a chuckle after listening to it.

The Skywalker Saga:

This is the way.

I agree with DZ that what I’ve already got there has the makings of a pretty classic line. In a hypothetical world in which this was how the film was released, it’s a pretty meme-able thing to say whenever somebody asks who you are and/or what you’re doing there.

The only other alternatives I can think of atm are the following:

Trooper: “Who are you?”

“I had hoped you might be able to tell me?”

OR

“That’s precisely what I’m trying to figure out!”

Trooper: “Then why are you… what?”

Both of the alternatives are funny in their own right, but I think the idea of Threepio coming to the sudden realization that he’s “some sort of spy” and saying it in front of a stormtrooper like he’s proud of it has a slight edge. Plus, it lines up the best with his subsequent line about “his first laser battle” so we wouldn’t necessarily have to change that one, too.

Lmao one of them rests a lightsaber on his shoulder like it’s no big deal.

Sorry, I think this is a genuinely strange concept. If anything, it just gives the audience more questions in a movie that is already perplexing in a number of ways.

Plus, it’s not even complete, as many shots were cut away due to the creator not liking much of the choreography. I’ve never had an issue with the choreography, it’s literally no different than the largely telegraphed moves from the prequels. The only difference is that they are being rather slow and deliberate in their actions here so it stands out more, while in the prequels they were moving so fast that it wasn’t as obvious.

Fair enough lol, these videos are usually best as more fun experiments than actually implemented. I figured it was gonna pop up here sooner or later, may as well get it out of the way now.

wtf the prequels has anything to do with this video and the fight choreography in the sequels ?

Making a comparison in the choreography?

but why ? if u cant defend something without comparison then find a reason to defend in the first place

To clarify my intent with that statement, I was merely pointing out that many have a problem with how the prequel choreography looks like a dance. This is particularly relevant in Duel of the Fates. If you were to slow down what they’re doing in TPM then you’d end up with the same problem that many of the sequel fight scenes have. Granted, there’s really no reason why they couldn’t have also sped things up in the sequel fights, particularly when it’s lightsaber v. lightsaber, except for the fact that Daisy and/or Adam clearly weren’t as invested as Hayden and Ewan in perfecting that stuff.

That being said, it makes sense that the Knights are attacking so slowly and deliberately because they have massive metal weapons. If you’ve ever held a heavy weapon before, you’ll know that once you go in for a swing it’s not like you can stop it super easily. Combine these two points I made and I really don’t see what the issue is.

Just popped in to say I like the brief inclusion of the drums in Rey and Kylo’s duel. Good job Jar Jar Bricks…you are a wizard with AI voices/ sound effects/ music/ etc.

Thanks! 11labs actually just released another model that can create sound effects. It’s basically like having a Foley artist in your back pocket at all times. Should be fun to see its various applications on this forum when it fully releases. I can’t think of anything that would make it immediately helpful on v5 of this edit but it’s worth considering.
