My dad nearly died today of a heart attack. He’s not out of the woods yet, but I thought he was a goner for sure when he first arrived at the hospital. It was close. Needs open heart surgery. Here’s hoping he’ll be ok.

I hope it all goes well. Mortality is pretty dumb.

I’m sorry to hear that man. I’m not too knowledgeable about these things but seeing as how has survived the initial trauma the likelihood of survival is increased exponentially. If you’re still on edge I hope that fact can keep your spirits up.
Geez man, best wishes. Mother-in-law had a similar incident a few years back and she’s been doing great.
Good luck man… Here’s hoping he’ll soon be strong enough to pull the ears off a gundart!
Yes, good luck towards your dad getting better.
Thank you all. Prognosis might not be as optimistic as I was hoping but it looks like it may be days before they will even consider surgery.

Sorry to hear this, Ender. I’ll be praying for you and your family. I hope your father recovers quickly.
He’s looking much better today. I wasn’t with him last night, as he’s in another larger city but there was some speculation he might not make it. I’m with him now and it’s far more promising.
All my hopes Ender.
If my recent brushes with the reaper and friends has told me anything the human heart and it’s capacity to heal is pretty amazing.
I shall keep my teeth crossed.
Thank you so much. From what I gather, his heart was remarkably undamaged, all things considered. Now the big complication is that he has developed pneumonia. The man is 74, so this is when pneumonia can start to be a lethal diagnosis. I pray he will continue to fight the challenges his body faces. If you pray, please pray for my dad. If not, keep your fingers (or teeth) crossed.
Thanks for the support you’ve all shown so far.
Teeth crossed.

Ender … sending good thoughts and hopes your way for your dad’s recovery. We’re all getting older but it never makes these scares any easier.
😃
Sending prayer and other good vibes your dad’s way, Ender.

I have actually been feeling a little bit better lately. I don’t know why. I don’t know how long it’s going to last. But for the time being, it’s nice.

That’s great, Mike!
Thanks, man. I’m still not dealing in any meaningful way with any of the nuts and bolts problems in my life, and I still feel the compulsions bubbling under the surface. I don’t know how long this respite will last, and I have fears that it’s temporary and whatever was wrong could come back worse. And like I said, I still have real-life problems to deal with. For now though, I am pleased to have some semblance of my own mind back. I won;'t lie, it’s awfully nice. Thanks to everyone for their continued kindness and support!

I’m glad things are going well! Let’s hope it continues (or at least that you will have more and more such respites in the future).
Don’t analyse it too much. Just take advantage to the boon to do other things which you have been wanting to do for a while but haven’t been as able to do.
Would those that pray, please pray for my father? He had a bad fall in our kitchen this morning. The took him to the hospital. He didn’t lose consciousness and he was’t bleeding on the outside. But when they did a cat scan, they found a little bit of bleeding in his head. They may have to do surgery. Thanks in advance
Oh man, best wishes for you and your father, Warb.
Thankyou Frink
They are not going to try surgery for right now. They are giving him something that will reverse the effects of the blood thinner he is on, and will be doing other things to hopefully stop the bleeding.
Aw Warb, I hope he gets better. Teeth crossed.
