That’s certainly interesting, but it probably would have read as very strange in the theater. But it would’ve gotten people talking, teasing essentially what the TROS teaser did, allowing Platonic people seeing these movies to get what we had the benefit of getting IRL.

That’s nice! I thought about cutting the Rey/Kylo moment to help focus the scene, and it’s definitely much cleaner that way. Nice work on the interference sounds too. Could you send me the sound effect you used? I think I’d like to add it to what I was using. I might take down the reverb on the voice a little bit (btw I PM’d you the Palpatine audio).
I guess the question I struggle with is: do we have to lose the final Rey/Kylo moment? It’s so great, but I think it’s an either/or deal.

That was my feeling too. I think DZ-330’s approach is cleaner, but then we lose that final exchange between Kylo and Rey.
stevepaynter, I’ve played with the broadcast a little, but always came back to the simple personal “Find me” directed to Kylo. I think the broadcast might be too grand in scope for this moment.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

I don’t know, it’s impressive work, but I just don’t feel it belongs in this movie. It feels too much like a teaser or in-film marketing for the next movie, which is something I associate with Marvel and not Star Wars.
Unfortunately my video editor that I use is trash, and anything I make won’t be nearly as good of quality and there are framerate issues and audio problems. I had a hard enough time getting that video out.
I am thinking cropped 4K shots to hide the repeats and I think we might have something good. I can help with the structuring of the scenes and possibly an audio track, but as far as messing with the video, I think I already hit the max my PC will let me!

I agree with your point, but I think one of TLJ’s main issues is that the ending doesn’t really build up to anything in IX in a satisfying way. Hopefully by adding some hint of what is to come it will help make the trilogy feel more well-thought-out

I see Octorox’s point, but for now I’d like to keep this going and see how good we can make it. Like DZ-330, I also felt the ending of TLJ left very little to anticipate for TROS.

I like it a lot, but I think it’s a little overlong in its current state. I kind of like just using “Find me” and leaving it at that, but I think you need a little more than that. Just gotta find a balance with it.

I would make Palpatine’s laugh a little quieter, I also added a radio effect over his voice just to blend it better. Otherwise 👍👍👍

For this reveal to play out in TLJ naturally I think there has to be a build up, sprinkling strong hints throughout the film of a Snoke/Palpatine and Rey/Palpatine connection would go along way, this can be done by adding the blue smoke from ROTJ as Snoke gets cut in half, also hinting at Rey’s sinister ancestry in the cave scene could be done by playing the Sith whispers from TPM as a hooded silhouette stares back at her in the mirror.
