There you go with your “shit films” nonsense again. Maybe you just don’t like them?

JUST LIKE EVERYTHING IN TFA SHIT FILM RAGE BLARGH

The “anti-TFA” members have given their reasonings. It’s reasoning some of you don’t like, but reasoning regardless.

Very few come to mind have only said “It’s shit just because”.

The Rise of Failures

I don’t understand how anyone can think it is a shit film no matter the reasoning. Not liking it is something completely different and I’m fine with that.

It’s no different than the PT but in reverse. It’s fine to like them, I just don’t get how anyone can think they’re good films.

I feel ten more pages of subjective vs objctive and film theory lectures coming on…

People have really different ways to measure what makes a film good or bad. For example; on the “Rate TFA” thread I posted that I personally felt that TFA was a 6/10, which for me means that it’s a good film with many strong points, but with enough weaknesses to bring it down closer to mediocrity. In the later posts a lot of people gave it similar ratings (5/10, 6/10, etc), but referred to it as a failure, as trash, as a shit film, etc.
Heck in that same thread someone even referred to a Kubrick film as “shit” (I forgot who, and don’t want to use specific names). Which I find kind of weird because I don’t think anything made by filmmakers like that, regardless of whether the film is flawed or not as good as their previous films, can be justifiably called something as damning as “shit.” It has to be pretty lousy, and barely qualify as a movie to be called “shit.” That’s the way I see it anyhow.
Now I get why some people were disappointed by TFA, and some people have brought up some real problems with it, but many arguments here are simply ridiculous.
Maybe this is a slightly accusing thing to say, but I guess it all comes down to how emotionally you judge films.

I’d love to see some of the people in this thread direct a SW movie just because it’d be hilarious knowing how quickly they’d find themselves way out of their element and they’d learn what a real shit film is. And everyone on the internet would hate them.

I’m “anti-TFA” and I personally don’t think TFA is shit, just flawed and uninspired. In fact, had LF just came up with a more original story and background, to me it would’ve been almost on par with ROTJ quality-wise, because it’s of course a fine movie from a technical standpoint. Had its more dramatic scenes (like that planet’s destruction) been handled so that we would’ve actually cared, it would’ve even been on par with ANH.

What I cannot get is your obsessed behaviour and attachment to this film. Other people’s opinions must really hurt you. A sane person would certainly not care that much, or would at least give up by now.

Tfa is shit…Get over it! It’s an uninspired, unoriginal, poorly constructed and conceived film, poor narrative, weak characters based loosely on an already successful film. It’s a remake/rehash/ poor homage… To cater for one thing and that is to make cash from selling more crap. The fact Disney are going to spoon feed crappy star-wars-films for years to come and drain the life out of this franchise is inevitable. The films will get worse as they run out of ideas. Once people have finally had enough of the shite they put out then star wars will fade into history. Disney are only interested in recouping what they invested and clearly making a decent profit.

I think it’s about time someone reminded us of the forum rules before a moderator does.
As for something new to moan about has anyone mentioned how odd the crawl looked?
To me it seemed more yellow than usual and the stars were much brighter or was that just because it wasn’t some crappy blu-ray transfer? 😄

Ive seen TFA twice and I loved it more the 2nd time around! Here’s my take. I agree about the ANH/ROTJ flavor this film has, but I loved the way it was executed, creating all sorts of mystery, intrigue and plenty of exciting questions to be answered, PLUS X-WINGS, I LOOOOOVE X-Wings! Concerning the Rey/Ren conflict, IMO Ren was physically handicapped by Chewy’s BFG shot to the lower gut and also Finn got in a lick during their brief duel. I thought Ren did pretty good against Rey considering those injuries and the profuse blood loss. Snoke also mentioned Ren never encountered a challenge as great as going up against Solo and TR. Rey’s FULL awakening occurred when Ren/Rey have their swords crossed with Ren bearing down and starting to physically overpower Rey. After closing her eyes she heeds maz’s advice and makes herself a full ally with the force and to the light side. I dont think rey wouldve been able to defend against an unwounded, full powered Ren. IMO the injuries/blood loss and fatigue weakened the dark side and cost Ren that battle. Poe Dameron is a Stud and a half! Seeing the x-wing fleet in action nearly brought tears to my eyes and a huge lump in my throat! Seeing Han die the way did under the circumstances made me gasp the 1st viewing! i cant remember that last time i did that in a theater and was so drawn into a story! During the 2nd viewing I could feel the fatherly pain in Hans eyes when he sees Ren, talks about him to Leia and final confrontation. I could feel the love he has for his son and the desperate sincerity in his words when trying to lure Ren back. When I saw the impalement again, I needed a napkin to wipe my eyes. The Starkiller/DS3 plot may not be original but it gets the ball rolling. I look forward to watching TFA many more times, and cant wait for questions answered and mysteries unraveled in further episodes!

Given that some of the definitions of that word are derogatory, let’s refrain from using it again to refer to anyone here, before any misunderstandings occur.

Honestly, even though I have no love of the prequels, I don’t think I’d call any of the Star Wars films “shit”. Baby Geniuses is a shit film.

It being anything of the sort never occurred to me…

Hard to believe it’s from the same guy who made A Christmas Story. Every director has a dog in their resume I guess?
