I have been very dejected after all the news of this bogus non-anamorphic crap Lucas is pushing on us. The worst part is the announcement two weeks ago, and being so happy, and then getting the rug pulled out under us makes it even worse.

Last night I was about to give up, and just say screw it, and put up the white flag. But we have alittle less than 4 months til Sept 12, why not fight til the end. Tell everyone you know to email, call, and write to Lucasfilm. We have gotten this far, what is 3 more months?

Once Sept 12th comes, and it is crap, we can put our hands up and say to George, "You won, you piece of shit!" But if this is released in a quality way that is to our likings, we wil have fought the good fight, and won.

This is my last stand, if it is crap Sept. 12th, I am not going through this again, I will not fight for the O-OT when the ultra super duper HD-DVD box set comes out. By then I really won't care anymore.

I totally agree. This is the last stand, and we might as well make our best effort. This is the closest we've ever come, so there's no point in backing down now. I'm writing my letter today in just a few minutes, actually.

I agree we should write letters but nice letters to lucasfilm and let them know we all want anamorphic widescreen versions of the o-ot on dvd.

By all technical stand points, I think we only have 3 months because that last month is just printing and shipping. But we can't give up now. We still have time to make our voices heard.

I'm in. One last push, then I'm calling it quits. If Lucas doesn't deliver come Sept 12th, he can piss off and continue 'tweaking' his bastard special editionms ad infinitum while I watch my bootleg discs and vow never to purchase another Lucasfilm product, including cinema tickets, for as long as I live. And that includes Indy 4.

I send my mannerly letter, signed the petition looong ago, have been vocal, did what I could to edit down the SE to be less offensive, and bought a "Han Shot First" shirt from starwarslegacy.com. Not to mention having over a thousand posts at originaltrilogy.com.

I'd say I've done my part. I can only hope at this point.

I don't know how many people have sent letters/e-mails/phone calls, but I guess the number is pretty good right now (including the other sites devoted to this cause). For many of us who have made our voice heard, it is now just a waiting game.

Who says we only have to write one letter? I've sent in two already and on monday i will be sending a third. Lucasfilm has to wake up.
